But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings, as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Come on now, we both know acts dont matter...James is the best: actsTheIronSheik said:That was a pretty cool read. I like that one.proninja said:As someone who gets a bit flippant with his words, I should read James 3 just about every daynotand faith.
False dichotomy. Faith should produce works. It's not Paul v James, it's Paul & James, in my humble opinionJames is the best: acts not faith.TheIronSheik said:That was a pretty cool read. I am literally quoting Bible verses... from the Bible. I think your angry is mis-placed.jon_mx said:If you are going to be a deebag, just man up and admit it. Don't feign ignorance. The ones centered around fornicating, drunkards, and seed spilling are my favorites because that is what my life is all about basically.B-Deep said:honestly for people mocking it would have been better to just start a new thread of most ridiculous bible verses
why not let the people who want to talk about the bible do it in peace?
it is like the droid people in the apple thread...just let this be what it was supposed to be and create a new thread for what you want to do
Don't you wish you could claim that faith will produce works.False dichotomy. Faith should produce works. I've always liked that one. But I prefer, "I am the light of the world. He that followeth me shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life.""Watch ye therefore, for ye know not when the master of the house cometh."
Well, there's always 2 Timothy 3:16-17Well, there's an inherent difference between the Old Testament and the New Testament, first of all. Somebody with a working knowledge of that wouldn't blindly sling that around. And even at that point, you're just being anti-Semitic.How is sharing the inerrant word of god 'mocking' and 'trolling'?
Your interpretations may vary, but the church I attended growing up was pretty dead set on this meaning the Bible, all of it, is the inerrant word of God.16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
my brother... just know that i'll have a drink waiting for you downstairs..... especially ones to make imperfect people feel better about themselves?
I was a pretty horrible person for a good portion of my life, before the new millennium. Never got arrested or anything, and I'd like to think I have a good heart, but I did things I'm ashamed of. I hurt people, and sometimes to this day it's hard to look in the mirror. As Jules said in Pulp Fiction, "I'm tryin', Ringo. I'm tryin' reeeeeal harrrrrrd to be the shepherd."
I know this may not fully compute, because I'm the guy who loves porn, but certain Bible verses give me comfort. I'm not even sure there is a Big Guy up there, but I'd like to think so even though logic suggests otherwise. Anyway, I kinda like these passages:
2 Corinthians 5:17,
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
1 John 1:9,
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Psalms 103:12,
"As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us."
