I remember looking at the Sticky Fingers album - it had a working zipper - when I was nine, and when I asked my 15 y.o. sister what the name meant she yelled at me & told me to get out of her room.
Yep, momma did not think that was funny. At all.
Just a great album cover. Always caught my eye for some reason.Roxy Music - Country Life>definitely nsfw, love Roxy and their covers
I remember the Beatles 62-66 red vinyl, and 67-70 blue vinyl.Buying an album used to be such an amazing experience. Are there liner notes? What’s the inside art work? Did they include a sheet with your dates? Merch listing so you can send them a money order & wait three months for a tee shirt? Is it a double album or at least have a flip cover so you can clean the stems & seeds from your pot?
I remember having Alice Cooper's Billion Dollar Babies Album with the gatefold wallet and of course a billion dollar note folded in the middle.Great idea for a thread. Will really need to think about great album art as there is so much.
As far as design?
Really liked the original Sticky Fingers album by the Stones, the one incorporating the actual working zipper on the image of the jeans.
Zep 3 had an internal flywheel that created different images in circular cut-outs on the front.
Alice Cooper's School's Out opened like a school desk and had the album wrapped in a pair of paper panties.
Jethro Tull's Thick as a Brick read like a multi-page newspaper.
Reminds me of Big Bamboo.I remember having Alice Cooper's Billion Dollar Babies Album with the gatefold wallet and of course a billion dollar note folded in the middle.

I was a record store kid. Would go all the time and just flip through the bins looking for stuff that looked or sounded interesting. Always loved opening the plastic seal and getting a look inside (if it was a double).Buying an album used to be such an amazing experience. Are there liner notes? What’s the inside art work? When floppinho sang backup on the parquet Courts last one (wide awake), they give him and other kids the LP, which included their names in liner notes. I loved stuff like that as a kid- would read all the liner notes, band lineups, everything.
That is truly awesome.Motörhead had a double album called No Remorse. I could only afford the regular cardboard cover, but I for one great moment held one of the 1000 limited initial pressing when they were both in the record store. This edition featured a genuine leather cover, keeping with the wallet designs already posted.

Nah, man. Anything with any cool packaging is cool. I used "record" instead of "album." My mistake.I know we're talking vinyl... but always loved Fridge's cd and cover for Sevens and Twelves
