other - "Charlotte Sometimes". my second favorite is on the list which is "Just Like Heaven".

I like me a good set of Cure Songs.... Plain Song is pretty cool too - Dramatic and good for movies I think they used it in Marie Antoinette and a few others....

Other - "Push" from the album "Head on the Door".

Not just one of my favorite Cure songs but one of my favorite songs from any band ever.

Couldn't decide between "Killing an Arab" and "Love Cats". Voted "Other" ... would go "Why Can't I Be You?" of the options given.

Fascination Street, Prayers for Rain, A Forest, and Carnage Visors are all favs

edit: also "A Night Like This"

Out of the songs listed, I would have voted for "A Forest"

But my favorite Cure song is "Other Voices"......what a killer bass line it has.

Charlotte Sometimes(dated a girl in college named Charlotte and she would do things to me when that song came on) and Just like Heaven

"If Only Tonight We Could Sleep" is the best by far, IMO.

By the way, the deftones do an AMAZING cover of it, if you haven't seen it, check it out here :

OTHER:

Your list is somewhat disappointing. While "In Between Days", "A Forest", "Distinegration", and "A Letter to Elise" are worthy of consideration, most of the list is pop radio driven. True Cure fans know the best stuff never really made it to the radio ...

From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea (Probably my favorite)

Primary

Decent (B Side)

Burn (The Crow Soundtrack)

Torture

Kyoto Song

The Blood

Six Different Ways

Shiver and Shake

Fascination Street

How Beautiful You Are

Love Cats

10:15 Saturday Night

Club America

Exploding Boy

Cold

A Night Like This (was awesome every time live)

Piggy In The Mirror

One I overlooked ... nice job.

I'm not a huge Cure fan, but like most of the other 80s/90s alt bands, they have a handful of songs I always loved. "If Only..." was my favorite by a long shot.Have you ever seen/heard the deftones cover? I'm a big deftones fan, but when I heard they were going to cover this song, I was like ;) . I was afraid they'd turn it into a thrash song, but they tend to stay pretty damn true to the originals on the covers they do. They freaking OWN "The Chauffeur" by Duran Duran. Link to that : HERE

None of their stuff was played on mainstream American radio until 1987 when Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me came out. Before then, their songs were only played on college radio stations.

My favorite Cure song changes every few years.

was Siamese Twins for a long time

then Lament

my fav live song is Disintegration

As a completely hopeless Cure fan for 20+ years, there's about 50 Cure songs that I love

Been to 35 Cure concerts and hung out with the guys several times.

Other: Personal Jesus
That's Depeche Mode. Or maybe you're kidding...
I always get those creepy, alternative, British 80's bands mixed-up. Which one went on to form Yaz? I love that "Only You" song.
That was Vince Clarke who was in Depeche Mode early on.There are other connections between Depeche Mode and The Cure:- Perry Bamonte who was a Cure roadie since 1984 and then joined in 1992 (Robert kicked him out a couple yrs ago) went to secondary school with Vince Clarke.- Daryl Bamonte (Perry's brother) was a tour manager for both bands- The Cure's security guy (named Daryl also) was DM's security guy. Nice dude. Died of a heart attack a couple of yrs ago.

Wow ... we may have met in a stupor then one night. :lmao: I've been a Cure fan for years as well.I've probably been to 25-30 shows as far back as 1983. I managed to score access to the release party for Wish in 1992 in Chicago and the Early Listening Party for Wild Mood Swings in '96.

BTW ... nice avatar/name ... "Play for Today" on 17 seconds is one of my favorite lyrics.

My fave, and not mentioned yet, is 'The Big Hand'

IIRC, it was released on a b-side collection in the UK. Only reason I know about it is because 120 Minutes (on MTV back when it was Music TV and not a teenage soft porn channel, damn now I feel old) played a video of it and I immediately loved it.

... of those listed, i select "In Between Days"

But i also come here to praise "Three Imaginary Boys" and "Fire In Cairo"

Been a huge fan for quite some time. Robert Smith is genius.
