I've gained a renewed appreciation for Petty in recent years. One of the all-time greats.
Damn the Torpedoes is a great album.Voting is all over the place. Can we at least agree that Southern Accents is far and away the best album?
Sure it is. Wouldn't say otherwise.Damn the Torpedoes is a great album.Voting is all over the place. Can we at least agree that Southern Accents is far and away the best album?
I honestly think you have a Reuben sandwich crammed in your ears.American Girl easily. I honestly think most of his stuff sounds the same.
My wife likes a country singer named Gary Allan (he's not bad either - from Bakersfield). Have been to see him live a few times and twice he has played Breakdown. I didn't hate it...Impossible to truly pick just one. I voted Breakdown just for the live version.

All of his songs have that same male voice in them.Apple Jack said:I'm curious for examples of this sameyness.I honestly think you have a Reuben sandwich crammed in your ears.American Girl easily. I honestly think most of his stuff sounds the same.
Nice. Always liked that song. And that album's got a lot of gems on it like "Dogs on the Run" and "Mary's Got A Brand New Car".
He was a regular character on "The Gary Shandling Show" and was really good on that show.Love listening to Petty's Buried Treasure show on SiriusXM. Plays a broad range of material and always has good trivia/stories about each song. He's a pretty funny guy, too.
