Favorite Worst NY Yankee Player (1 Viewer)

Don Mattingly
If he had played anywhere outside of NY he would have been known as the Pete O'Brien of his generation.

Bruce BochteJack Clark

Darrell Evans
Did you ever watch the man play?!?
I did.He was an above average baseball player. He was talented.

If he had played in Seattle, Cleveland or Texas instead of NY his rep would be quite different.

The man won an MVP and he was the best player IN THE GAME for a few years. If his back didn't fail him, he'd be in the HOF, regardless of where he played.

Steve Howe was "The Ignitor". He was pouring gas on a fire when there was trouble brewing.

Hensley "Bam Bam" Meulens

I'm going to get a little old school here...

Fred "Chicken" Stanley

Brian Doyle*

*had a great WS filling in for Willie, then was never heard of again.

Bob Guerin- I remember he shaved his head after losing a bet, forgot what the bet was

Butch Wynegar

Paul Zuvella- my memory is foggy but remember when he didnt get a hit for alot of at bats and then finally got a hit and I couldve sworn they mobbed him at 1B but I was mad young so I could be making this up

WOW from Wiki:

"Zuvella got off to an extremely slow start with the Yankees, going hitless in his first 28 at-bats"

Dont tell me Im not a true Yankee fan. Anybody remember this? Did they mob him at 1B or was that made up in my mind?

Looking at stats, it is lunacy. Seeing as how they made the World Series the year before he was on the team and won the World Series the year after he retired, gave the Yankees their longest span without a title in almost a century. Only made the playoffs one year while he played and they lost in the first round.

Joined the team in 2003 as the hitting coach and the Yankees have not won a title since.

MY favorite worst NYY.
