Favre's Landing Spot (1 Viewer)

Idiot Boxer

Seems perfect to me. Started his career there. They need someone to bring Matt Ryan on for a year or two. Would immediately bring some excitement back?

Is it

a) Mike Vick eating up too much cap space in prison?

or

b) Brett only wants to play for a winner

Brett isn't interested in getting the crap beat out of him for a 6-10 record. He also isn't interested in mentoring any young QB's. He wants to play for a Super Bowl. That's the only reason he came back.

I have the perfect resolution -

The Packers trade Brett to the Red Sox for Manny Ramirez. Kills 2 overhyped stories at once.

End of the day Packers will let him go to Vikings via trade or release, if that is his choice as "rumors" insist.......JMO

It seems to me that Favre's best option to win is to stand firm in returning to the Packers and ask to compete for the job with Rodgers.

Does his contract have a no-trade clause or give him the right to veto a trade?

Warhogs prediction:

Favre returns to Packers as a backup.

Aaron Rodgers starts out the season 0-3 and gets banged up in game 3.

Favre returns as the starter and sneaks the Packers into the playoffs as a wild card.

Packers return to divisional championship where Favre throws a couple of key interceptions and the Packers lose again.

Favre takes longer next year to announce his intentions.

Rodgers leaves via free agency.

Favre retires.

Brian Brohm is left as the starting QB of the Packers.

Oh, it sucks being a Packer fan today.

I still say no way in "hot place" Green Bay allows Favre to go the Vikings. They will bring him on to the roster before that. I really believe he reports to Green Bay. The hold a press conference announcing they have cleared the air and Favre will compete with Rodgers for the starting job. In week 1 #4 is out there winging it for the Packers.

My Packer wish.

Trade that stinking Aaron Rodgers and turn things back over to Favre. Groom Brohm to be Favre's replacement.

I believe Rodgers is an RFA after the 2009 season.

Somehow we have to get Thompson fired and put you in charge.

Favre needs to play for Atlanta like he needs a hole in the head. Might as well take the $20mm he was offered by the team President and call it a career.

Better yet, why not send him to San Francisco with the rest of the 40whiners - perfect to throw for Martz for a year or two and teach Alex Smith how to play QB.

KC, SF, and Atl could all use an experienced QB but I dont think Favre is co-operating with the the GB brass by not taking calls from other GM's. The Packers should let Favre sit until he agrees to go where the Pack want to trade him. If they cant trade him then release him well after training camp or even well into the season. If #4 wont make it easy on the Packers then why should they be eager to grant him his wishes.

Favre brought all of this on himself by being a waffler about retirement.
