FBG FFPC MOCK 3 (1 Viewer)

I created another mock draft on antsports.com. We're getting some great practice in. I've drafted at the beggining and the end and now I'm going to try the middle.

You will have 8 hours to make each selection. Ignore the scoring system and line up requirements on the league page. We will be using FFPC rules.

*Please do not sign up if you don't think you will be able to make your draft selections. We had four people time out in the other draft. Remember you can make a pre-draft list if you feel you are going to be away from the computer for 8+ hours.

The starting lineups will consists of: 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 Flex Players (RB, WR or TE), 1 PK. 1 TeamDefense/Special Team

Passing:

20 yards passing = 1 point (Divide total yards by 20. Example: 275 passing yards = 13.75 fantasy points)

Passing TD = 4 points

Interception thrown = Minus one point (-1).

2-point conversion = 2 points

Rushing:

10 yards rushing = 1 point (Divide total yards by 10. Example 126 rushing yards= 12.6 fantasy points)

Rushing TD = 6 points

2-point conversion = 2 points

Receiving:

10 yards rushing = 1 point (Divide total yards by 10. Example: 93 receiving yards = 9.3 fantasy points)

Receiving TD = 6 points

1 point per Reception for RB, WR, QB, K

1.5 points per Reception for TEs

2-point conversion = 2 points

Golfjim is in. Pick 1:12.

Thanks again. There were 3 spots open after my entry.

I would like to ask a favor. If someone doesn't SHOW UP in the 1st couple of rounds, please get a human replacement instead of letting the computer take over.

Thanks for your consideration.

Modog's team is now computer controlled. Is it possible to replace the computer with a human? I've never used AntSports, so I am unfamiliar with what it can do. If so, I vote to go that route ASAP (preferably before the computer makes the round two selection). Maybe DansRams can take it over?

Modog, are you doing this or aren't you? You're screwing it up for everyone else. There were others who wanted to get in but couldn't.

Sorry guys didn't Get email notification that this was filled. Im in and pre drafted 2nd round already. Again my apologies

Good start to this draft. I learned from the last and went TE first. Gronk is hard to pass up. Lots of good players sitting there at 4 for me.

TE crazy it seems scoring system makes a difference but trusting a rookie RB as your only RB through 3 rounds without a WR or a QB seems crazy to me. sees like it might look good on paper because of the 1.5PPR for TE but really have a hard time seeing that combo working out without graham or Gronk as at least one of the two

Everyone's team ought to look good after 4 or 5 picks. The trick is to have 8 solid starters (excluding the def and PK) after the draft. Take another look after about 12 rounds and you'll see some teams that can't start 8 guys they can count on for a reasonable amount of points on any given week. The better strategists will always have rounds 6 - 12 pretty well thought out, which may mean they had to make some compromises in rounds 1 - 5.

Getting out of dynasty mode is tough.

Rodgers, RG3, ADP, D Martin, JStew, CJ Spiller, Wallace and Dez through 8.

Too many teams still without QBs to let a potential stud like RG3 keep sliding. Spiller also makes a great RB4...especially in PPR.

In reality, all players are trade chips until the season starts so I don't feel you need to fill a starting lineup only through a draft.

Thought I would bump this and comment.

It seems almost like people are treating TE as a lottery ticket to success with this. I understand with 1.5 PPR but people aren't even considering byes for starters. 4 of 12 teams will not have 2 starting RB during a bye as of now. 2 will have no RB in a bye week as of now. It seems like a lot of faith in waivers to pick up a RB who will get carries.

I don't think that people should bypass players based on byes btw. But into round 10 and having two RB on the same bye while carrying 3 TE, some of which are middling talents seems odd to me.

Considering I'm the only team to have 3 TE's and my top 2 RB's have the same bye, I assume this comment is based on my Team. I'll address my reasoning...

1) Consider that I didn't realize that the draft had started and regrettably had the computer select my first pick. I would not have picked MJD there, and am treating my team as if I had selected McFadden there. So the 2 RB's on a bye isn't an issue in my head.

2) TE's are gold in this format at 1.5 and the ability to start 3. We can disagree whether you think mine are "middling" talents, but the truth is Brent Celek Ranked as the 5th best TE from week 5 on. Hernandez was the 3rd best TE last year, and Davis was #5 prior to getting suspended for the last 4 games. So in my mind, I have 3 top 12 TE's, and possibly 3 top 6 TE's.

3) My plan all along is to fill in my every week starters before I start worrying about bye week fill-ins.

4) I think you'll find more breakout WR/RB's on the waiver wire than you will TE's.

This is my first mock of the year with little in-depth research....primarily treating it as a "test the waters" experiment.

Again, thanks to the OP for putting this together. Enjoying drafting with this group and would love to partake in many more of these throught he preseason

This is a weird type of draft. I never played in one with such high scoring for TE's. I am covered pretty much for bye weeks. I don't think that is such a big deal to me when I draft. I make tons of trades and aquisitions during the season any way.

I'm in the same boat as you - I also make a ton of in-season waiver moves. I also am of the belief that bye-weeks shouldn't push me off taking the best player available. To me, a few extra points every week is worth the risk of having a position limited for a single bye week.

These mocks are FBGs Leagues mocks, to my understanding. That's the $350/team leagues. There is NO TRADING in those leagues.

Modog, you were going to take McFadden from me. That would not have been very nice of you.

You're correct - there are NO TRADES allowed. There is however a blind-bid free agency which I tend to go bonkers on :)

Yeah I was going to say, no trades.

I wasn't pointing to anyone in particular with the middling comment but it just seemed odd. RB get hurt so often and there is no trading. You have to figure a good portion of the RB pool will be snagged in 20 rounds, at least a large portion that will be start able in PPR in a 12 team league.

I'm not saying that TE isn't important and won't out score others with lesser stats, I just think the 1.5 might be getting to people's heads. Rob Housler being taken before Lance Moore is rediculous to me.

I can see the TE heavy thing working if you stay relatively healthy at RB during the year and hit it big with a Keller/Celek type but I don't like relying on waivers to get a weekly RB as those types most often do not work. Sometimes they emerge, usually you get Jackie Battle though. It seems like a lot of faith is put into RB health and definitely being the one to get the right RB on waivers for my taste.

This mock has tought me though that I need to get a TE by the 5th or 6th round so I can continue to pick up other talent positions later. Getting a Garçon, who out scored like 3 of the TE in this format that were taken already (dispite terrible QBs) in the 8th is great for depth but I waited too long.

Edit for fat fingering my iPhone

You bring up some great points and I generally agree - even though I took 2 TE's early in this mock I also feel that the 1.5 ppr causes people to overvalue the TE position. The statistics support this. Mostly I was curious to see what it would do to my draft to pick top TE's early like that....I'll tell you what, if I ended up with the team I have so far in a "real" draft I would not be a happy camper.Having said that, there absolutely will be people who will do what I am doing in this mock in the real thing....and the TE position in general will go much earlier than "normal" due to the 1.5 ppr.

I happen to live in Arizona. In fact, just outside of Flagstaff where the Cardinals are right now. Yhe word aout of camp is the the coaches think Housler has all of the skills to be a stud and they're going to find out how good he can be. I already have 4 WRs, so why would I want Moore at this point in the draft. There are a lot of other WRs, still available, that I would take before him, anyway. The situation in NO could/will affect everybody. In addition, this is about the time in the draft that I start "swinging for the fences". IOWs, I go for people that can REALLY make a difference for my team, which Moore certainly wouldn't do. Learning to spell won't hurt you, either. "Rediculous" and "dispite". Despite what you say, that's ridiculous.

Why are you taking it as a personal attack? I'm sorry i post from my phone at work and rely (probably too heavily) on auto-correct.I take camp talk with a grain of salt. If you rely on camp talk Seattle is going to have a full on training camp battle between Jackson, Flynn, and Wilson for the starting QB job....... I personally need to see things actually happen, even just in the preseason, to actually believe it's the case, especially with players that are not rookies. Moore is the WR2 for Drew Brees. Housler is the TE2 (as of now) for Kolb/Skelton. Obviously we value players differently and I respect that. But since you wanted to make a little poke of a personal attack I'll take mine at you: under your Pead pick you put: "A good pick until we see what happens to Lynch" Pead is the probable backup to Steven Jackson, not Lynch. Lynch's backup is maybe Turbin primarily, but i think more likely it's Turbin and Leon Washington. It even lists the team that Pead plays for directly next to his name, don't know how you can screw that up. Learning what player is on what team won't hurt you, either........

i think this is just a consequence of the issue that running back depth sucks this year. its not like gronk and others are going ahead of quality rbs.

Nice drafting with everyone. I'll be starting another one of these later tonight or early tomorrow morning. I'm very happy with the team I ended up with out of the six spot.

QB Michael Vick PHI 4.07 7

QB Carson Palmer OAK 10.07 5

No complaints here. I've got Vick as my #4 QB in my rankings. Wouldn't at all be surprised to see him end up as the #1 overall QB in ppg again this season as he did in 2010. He obviously comes with a big injury risk so I made sure to get a solid backup. Palmer should be a high end #2 QB this season with a shot as sneaking as a low end QB1. The Raiders have one of the most explosive offenses in the league with McFadden, Moore, Heyward-Bey, and Ford.

RB Matt Forte CHI 2.07 6

RB James Starks GBP 6.07 10

RB Mark Ingram NOS 9.06 6

RB Shane Vereen NEP 11.06 9

RB Evan Royster WAS 15.06 10

RB Jonathan Dwyer PIT 18.07 4

Some may point to this as the weak spot of my team, but I'm actually happy with this group. Forte has consistantly been a solid RB1 over the last four years and I don't expect that to change. Starks is a solid RB on one of the best offenses in the league without much competition. He should get a chance to be their workhorse this year. Ingram is a steal 9.06 if he can stay healthy this year. Obviously health is the big concern with him, but reports are that his knee is fully recovered. Vereen, Royster, and Dwyer are all depth players, but I do think one of three has a chance to break out and enter my lineup at some point this season. Vereen and Royster could end up being steals if they get a chance to start at any point this season. And if not, they didn't cost me very much.

WR Hakeem Nicks NYG 3.06 11

WR Steve Johnson BUF 5.06 8

WR DeSean Jackson PHI 7.06 7

WR Lance Moore NOS 12.07 6

WR Santana Moss WAS 13.06 10

WR Jacoby Ford OAK 14.07 5

WR Chad Ochocinco MIA 16.07 7

Love Nicks this year. I have him as the #3 WR in my rankings. I expect his ADP to rise in a few weeks when he comes back from his injury. Steve Johnson should have a better season this year as he is completely healthy. I ended up with DeSean again in this mock. I'm not a huge fan of him because of his inconsistancy, but I took him because I felt he was the best player left on the board. He should serve as a solid flex option. I seem to be ending up with Lance Moore in almost all of my mocks. Hes been nothing, but productive when healthy the last few seasons. Moss should start opposite Garcon and have a solid season. The reports on him out of camp have been nothing but positive. Ford and Ocho are my wildcard/depth guys.

TE Jimmy Graham NOS 1.06 6

TE Dustin Keller NYJ 8.07 9

TE Scott Chandler BUF 17.06 8

Not much to say about Graham. I expect him to be #1 TE this year. Keller should be good as a backup and may even make it into my lineup some weeks as a flex play. The Jets are lacking a solid #2 receiving option behind Holmes. Chandler was simply a depth pick.

PK Jason Hanson DET 20.07 5

Just picked the highest ranked player on the antsports list.

DT Detroit Lions DET 19.06 5

I like to play the 'Rent-A-Defense' Strategy and the Lions have a really good week 1 matchup playing at home against the Rams.

Wanted to say "Thanks again" for letting me into the mock.

This mock has taught me that I better get my head out of my ### when I draft, for real, in the FBGs leagues. Or I wil be in DEEP WEEDS. I wanted Hillman/RB/Den, since I took McGahee, but I waited too long. I wanted Turbin, not Pead (I like Pead a lot, though). And, I screwed up 20:01 where I wanted LeStar Jean/WR/HOU.

Anyway, on to my team.

QBs-Brady, Flacco. Grade-A. Brady, imho, will be the #1 QB in the league. Joe is an excellent BU. My only concern is that NE gets ahead and, with a better DEF, they pound the ball with Ridley/Vareen.

RBs--McFadden, Bush, McGahee, Hightower, Pead, McKnight. Grade--B. McFadden/Bush are my every week starters. Until I know better, I will be targeting McGahee, in the 5th or so, as my #3 RB (just don't believe that Elway/Fox will risk Manning unless proves he can REALLY block). I will target Hillman in the 8/9 Round. Hightower makes a GREAT #4/flex/bye week RB. He has the potential to be a #2 RB. I like Pead a lot because Fisher likes to run his RBs and Pead will be spelling Jackson. McKnight should get some action and even more if Ryan figures out that Greene can't do it.

WRs--Nelson, Decker, Moore, Baldwin, Chambers (really Josh Gordon), Quick. Grade--B+. A lot of #2s with a whole bunch of #1 potential. Nelson--as long as Rodgers is healthy, then Nelson can light it up. Decker--If Mannings arm has lost a little of it's strength, as they are saying, then why people are drafting Thomas a head of Decker, is beyond me. Moore--with his RAC and Palmer, this guy could end up a TOP 3. Williams is gone and Rice is injured, which makes Baldwin #1 and hopefully Flynn can play well. Chambers (Josh Gordon)--The potential to be a #1, THIS YEAR. If he is available after RND 12, I will take him EVERY TIME. Quick--Bradford is a very good QB and Quick s/b the #1 in STL, so what's not to like.

TEs--Witten, Housler, Cameron. Grade--B+. A lot of you probably think that grade is too high. However, Witten is a TOP 5. As I said, I live about 30 minutes from Flagstaff and there is a lot of talk about how good Housler can be. I think that Jordan steps up and is #1 in Cleveland.

PKs/DEF--Kaeding and Pats (don't know how I got Timed Out because I though I had pre-drafted. Denver DEF s/b LeStar Jean/WR/HOU. Grade--B+. Nate is an excellent PK and NE, with it's improved DEF and their easy schedule, will be just fine.

Analysis. I like this team. I REALLY DO. There is a lot of talent picking at the 12th spot. I'm SOLID at EVERY position and I have plent of talent for my Byew weeks and my flex spots. Also, a couple of "swing for the fences" types in Pead, McKnight, Gordon, Housler and Cameron to make it very interesting. I s/b able to compete with the other 11 teams.

Forte is fine but I do think this will be a weakness. You may be expecting too much out of Starks or Ingram. If you can squeeze by with one of these as a mediocre number 2 there's very little chance you'll be able to get a flex out of this group.

WR Hakeem Nicks NYG 3.06 11

WR Steve Johnson BUF 5.06 8

WR DeSean Jackson PHI 7.06 7

WR Lance Moore NOS 12.07 6

Top 2 are strong, but you're right about Jackson. Extremely inconsistent, especially in a PPR, so I'd only consider him a borderline flex.

I think you'll need to be starting Keller as a flex, which should be OK.

Overall, I see 8 strong starters but will need a big break with a #2 RB (to say nothing of injury and bye week protection) and a 2nd flex.

I agree Brady will have a good year. The challenge is, going with a QB so early usually causes problems later on, so he need to have an exceptional year, (which he probably will) to compensate for some challenges below.

Bush may be an acceptable #2, though a risky one. In addition to the risk with him (injury and overall performance) I don't see any depth here, so no flex opportunities, bye week backfills nor reliable injury protection. Pead may have a nice future, but maybe about 8 carries a week this year - not enough to count on.

WRs--Nelson, Decker, Moore, Baldwin, Chambers (really Josh Gordon), Quick. Grade--B+. A lot of #2s with a whole bunch of #1 potential. Nelson--as long as Rodgers is healthy, then Nelson can light it up. Nelson and Decker should be fine but I'm not seeing a flex starter among this group. I disagree Bradford is a good QB. He clearly wasn't last year, and Quick is one of among about 6 WRs on St. Louis, so it's not clear who will emerge among that group.

Witten should be top 5.

Also, a couple of "swing for the fences" types in Pead, McKnight, Gordon, Housler and Cameron to make it very interesting. I s/b able to compete with the other 11 teams.
I think this team is 2/3 starters short of being competitive. Bush is 50/50, and in addition I don't think there are 2 flexes you'll be able to count on.

I appreciate the opportunity to mock. It's not easy to find FFPC-style mocks. I got thrown a couple of curve balls, but overall I think I've got a solid team

QB Matt Ryan ATL 7.03 7

QB Ryan Fitzpatrick BUF 12.10 8

Solid QB's. Not spectacular, but I think Ryan is going to improve on his numbers from last year.

RB LeSean McCoy PHI 1.03 7

RB Issac Redman PIT 5.03 4

RB Jahvid Best DET 6.10 5

RB Pierre Thomas NOS 11.03 6

RB Robert Turbin SEA 13.03 11

RB Kendall Hunter SFO 15.03 9

RB Dion Lewis PHI 18.10 7

Love McCoy. I think Redman will hold onto the job, if not I need a healthy Best. A healthy Best = a monster backfield. But that is a big if. In any case, Thomas and Hunter should be good for points every week and Turbin could be in play depending on the Lynch situation.

WR Greg Jennings GBP 2.10 10

WR Roddy White ATL 3.03 7

WR Marques Colston NOS 4.10 6

WR Nate Washington TEN 10.10 11

WR Nate Burleson DET 16.10 5

WR James Jones GBP 17.03 10

Love the top three. Have potential in the other three. Obviously the strong point of the team.

TE Jared Cook TEN 8.10 11

TE Owen Daniels HOU 9.03 8

TE Martellus Bennett NYG 14.10 11

Got caught at the end of the TE grab. All three have high ceilings. Unfortunately, none of them are sure things.

PK Mike Nugent CIN 20.10 8

DT New York Giants NYG 19.03 11

Actually, I think both of them will improve from last year. Fitz will be a dependable #2. I don't think either of them will become top 5 but they won't hurt you either.

RB LeSean McCoy PHI 1.03 7

RB Issac Redman PIT 5.03 4

RB Jahvid Best DET 6.10 5

RB Pierre Thomas NOS 11.03 6

It will be interesting to see if Pitt throws to Redman. If not he may be acceptable as a # 2/3rd RB, but nothing special. Best is so brittle I'm thinking he may become a 3rd down option only. Thay have a couple other good options. For P Thomas to do much, Ingram needs to get hurt or benched.

WR Greg Jennings GBP 2.10 10

WR Roddy White ATL 3.03 7

WR Marques Colston NOS 4.10 6

WR Nate Washington TEN 10.10 11

I agree this is a very strong group. You could get both of your flexes from this group (Colston & Washington).

TE Jared Cook TEN 8.10 11

TE Owen Daniels HOU 9.03 8

TE Martellus Bennett NYG 14.10 11

Got caught at the end of the TE grab. All three have high ceilings. Unfortunately, none of them are sure things.

Cook and Daniels may have high ceilings but Bennett doesn't. At least one of them should have a decent year.

PK Mike Nugent CIN 20.10 8

DT New York Giants NYG 19.03 11
Overall, McCoy and the WRs are the strength, but tons of ? marks with the other RBs and the TEs, and I don't think you have a QB that (while fully capable...) will be so strong he'll be able to compensate for the weaknesses and risks at the other positions.

Thanks for the opportunity:

QB: Eli Manning, Christian Ponder, Matt Cassel

Eli should be fine. I messed up the Ponder pick because I forgot his bye week but he should be ok of Eli goes down. Cassel is there because of the Ponder blunder

RB: Matthews, SJax, Hillis, Leshoure, Gerhart, Bernard Scott, Goodson.

5 guys definitely getting touches weekly. RB is probably my strongest group. Plenty of insurances. Gerhart/Goodson could be steals if they get play time. I think Matthews is RB4 with the upside of being one of the only guys that has a shot (though somewhat remote) of being RB1.

WR: Andre Johnson, Harvin, Steve Smith, Garçon, Sanders, Vincent Brown.

I was a little shocked I got this good of a WR core considering I went RB/RB from the 5 spot. 4 guys I am 100% comfortable starting weekly 5 if Wallace holds out or is traded. I might possibly lean towards this being my strong area but I question Andre and Smith a little.

TE: Rudolph, Dallas Clark.

I admit, I screwed this up badly. I waited far too long and when I saw other values I figured I could get another guy in the next round two times and screwed myself. Hopefully Clark's not terrible but I think Rudolph has great upside. Could be my teams ultimate downfall but if I'm going to have that in a team, TE is where I want it Dispite the 1.5 PPR since the non elites score like RB2s and WR2s which I have a ton of depth at. I think I can compete due to depth Dispite this shortcoming.

My team:

QB Tony Romo DAL 5.02

QB Andrew Luck IND 13.02

I feel good about this duo. Romo can be a top 5 if he stays healthy and Luck should be an acceptable #2, with possible upside.

RB Ray Rice BAL 1.02

RB Fred Jackson BUF 3.02

RB Donald Brown IND 7.02

RB LeGarrette Blount TBB 10.11

RB Ronnie Hillman DEN 11.02

RB Rashad Jennings JAC 12.11

Rice and Jackson will be solid, and I think Brown will be good for a flex. If he doesn't work out, at least one of the other three could. Blount may still receive 200 carries. Hillman might be starting by the end of the year, and Jennings just needs an opportunity, which he may get this year.

WR Larry Fitzgerald ARI 2.11

WR Miles Austin DAL 4.11

WR Randy Moss SFO 8.11

WR Austin Collie IND 14.11

WR Danny Amendola STL 15.02

WR Earl Bennett CHI 16.11

WR Alshon Jeffery CHI 20.11

Two very strong starters. Moss or Collie may emerge as a good bye week fillers. Am thinking either Bennett or Jeffery will become a strong #2 for Chicago, but I'm not sure which one.

TE Brandon Pettigrew DET 6.11

TE Greg Olsen CAR 9.02

Pettigrew should be solid. Olsen just needs about 50% of Shockey's targets to be a fine TE and flex starter for me.

PK David Akers SFO 19.02

DT Houston Texans HOU 17.02

DT Chicago Bears CHI 18.11

Can't do much better with the Defs and the PK above.

Eli won't have the numbers he did last year but still acceptable. He doesn't get hurt but also doesn't hurt your team.

I agree this is a strong group, at least the top 3. Hillis could get 250 touches this year. Scott may get about 40% of the Cincinn touches, but we'll have to see.

WR: Andre Johnson, Harvin, Steve Smith, Garçon, Sanders, Vincent Brown.

This is a good group. Even Sanders and Brown may be decent.

TE: Rudolph, Dallas Clark.

I agree. This duo really sucks.Overall, this is a very strong team, except for the TEs. The strongest of the teams I've reviewed above. Would probably be able to compete with mine.

It's really hard to judge how people are valuing TE in this format is my biggest takeaway. Unless I'm able to get a good value I almost always err on the side of waiting on a TE for a long time. I'm going to have to adjust my thinking for this format I think

I want to thank Modog for continuing to "pre-draft" so that we had a HUMAN, not a computer. Thanks Modog.

The BEST teams, imo (no particular order).

JERSEY. Good QBs in Romo and Luck (leary about having a Rook as my only BU, though). Solid RBs with Rice, Jackson and Brown (nice Bye/Flex opportunity here). I like Blount better than most. Hillman is a solid choice (you won't get him in the 11th in any league that I'm in). Jennings is looking REALLY GOOD if MJD holds out. Your WRs are excellent. Danny could be a steal in the 15th and Bennet (think he will end up in the slot) in the 16th. TEs are your 1 weak spot. I don't like Pettigrew as well as most, but I think Olsen could be a sleeper. PKs and DEFS are fine.

**NOTE** FBGs leagues do NOT give you WW opportunity until after the 1st game, so all of you that did NOT draft a PK or a DEF go into the 1st game without 1. IMO, that's a 7-8 point deficit to start with. Also, they have 2 FLEX slots.

For the rest of the teams, I just don't see that much. FOOTBALL has Starks as his #2 RB and that's not good. Plus, I don't see that much in the way of flex. With FROGMAN, I don't see where his FLEXs are going to come from. And, I wouldn't touch Mendenhall (especially in the 12th), unless I had Redman. WATERFORD (you a collector?: we have a couple of pieces plus a Pairpoint and 2 Handels and a bunch of Cranberry glass). Your QBs are weak I have both Freeman/Smith in a dynasty but I don't expect Freeman to do any more than a low level #1. If Bradshaw's tooties hurt him then you don't have much at RB. CLOSERS--not bad. Not bad at all. Don't like Greene at all, but Smith was a smart PU in the 12th. If everything turns out right for you, then you could be pretty good. MODOG has only 2 RBs, both with the same BYE week, and if MJD holds out, then only 1 RB. Britt in the 8th is a fair pick, but I don't see any way that he doesn't miss 4-6 games. MOCKIN' looks pretty good. He is pretty solid at every position. If Bradshaw goes down, then his RBs (Wilson) are even better. One FLEX will probably come from his TEs. RAVEN isn't bad, either. If I got Peterson, then I'd be sure to get Gerhart. Just because you nabbed 5 TEs doesn't mean that you got a decent one. LONGTUCKY, also, isn't bad. Wells, in the 7th is probably value, but I would really be concerned about him as my #2, especially if there is NO #3. Plus, your two main RBs have the same BYE week. I would like WINGNUTS a lot better if he had a TE in the 15-20 range, which he doesn't. In addition, 1 raindrop on Best's forehead and he's done forever. CHICKEN looks very good, except at TE, where he looks very bad. You don't win in a FBGs league without a solid TE.

JUST MHO, of course. And all in FUN.

I guess I just like Starks more than most. I have him ranked like a low end RB2 at #21. My projections for him are 224/941/6 40/300/1. It doesn't seem outlandish to me considering the situation he is in. Who would you guys have taken as your RB#2 if you were in my position?

I could have grabbed Bush or Doug Martin in the 3rd, but I don't see the value there. Bush is injury prone and has two other guys to compete with for carries. Doug Martin should be productive, but Blount isn't going to completely go away.

I could have grabbed Gore, Turner, or Redman in the 4th, but again I don't see the value. I actually prefer Starks to Redman and Turner. I don't think Mendy will miss the whole season so I can't justify taking a RB in the 4th who may not even be the starter for his team come fantasy playoff time. Turner looked slower last year and the team has already stated they want to decrease his workload. Plus he doesn't catch many balls so it puts him at a disadvtange in PPR leagues. Gore I like better than Starks, but not much by much. Hes got lots of competition for carries now, is getting old, and gets hurt so often.

In the 5th I could have taken Helu, Stewart or Greene. I prefer Starks to both Helu and Stewart. No way I'm taking a Shanahan RB in the 5th. Way too risky. Stewart has Williams to compete with for carries and Newton steals all the goaline touchdowns. Greene should be OK this year, but I have him rated very close to Starks and I'd rather have Starks in the 6th than Greene in the 5th.

McGahee will be solid again this year, but he doesn't catch many passes. Best could be a stud if he plays, but the concussions make him too risky. I like Donald Brown this year, but I prefer Starks slightly over him.

"you don't win FBGs leagues without a solid TE"

I'm going to test that theory out with this mock draft. I'm going to create a spreadsheet for the teams and figure out both optimal team and likely team (as I see it that week) and compile some data on it to see if this holds true.

My theory is that its not necessarily the case. I continually passed on TE both because there were guys on the board I considered more valuable at the time and because you only have to start 1. I value depth particularly at RB and it appears most others in this format do not. I doubt I could win the whole thing with this team but I bet it's competitive within the league.

I'll start a post after a few games and update it every so often with what I find. It's mostly for my own amusement but I think it's good data to toss out there to the pool. I personally believe by week 4 or 5 there will be a lot to consider. By playoff time when injuries start happening more often will be the true test though.
