I created another mock draft on antsports.com. We're getting some great practice in.

You will have 8 hours to make each selection. Ignore the scoring system and line up requirements on the league page. We will be using FFPC rules.

*Please do not sign up if you don't think you will be able to make your draft selections. We had four people time out in the other draft. Remember you can make a pre-draft list if you feel you are going to be away from the computer for 8+ hours.

The starting lineups will consists of: 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 Flex Players (RB, WR or TE), 1 PK. 1 TeamDefense/Special Team

Passing:

20 yards passing = 1 point (Divide total yards by 20. Example: 275 passing yards = 13.75 fantasy points)

Passing TD = 4 points

Interception thrown = Minus one point (-1).

2-point conversion = 2 points

Rushing:

10 yards rushing = 1 point (Divide total yards by 10. Example 126 rushing yards= 12.6 fantasy points)

Rushing TD = 6 points

2-point conversion = 2 points

Receiving:

10 yards rushing = 1 point (Divide total yards by 10. Example: 93 receiving yards = 9.3 fantasy points)

Receiving TD = 6 points

1 point per Reception for RB, WR, QB, K

1.5 points per Reception for TEs

2-point conversion = 2 points

I was gonna wait until tomorrow to create another one of these because I'm getting my FFPC Main Event draft slot tonight. You can count me in anyways though. :)

Golfjim in. 1 of my FBG leagues filled and I pulled 1:06. It will be nice to see what a mock at that slot gets me.

Thanks for doing this Modog. You also, Footballman, for the other 3.

Yeah, I set it up because I got my slot yesterday. #1. THe FBG one, not the main event.

Peterson at 2:07, is a pretty good deal. They may ease him in slowly during the pre-season, but by the 1st real game, he'll be chompin' at the bit. Happy so far.

Snagged Reggie Bush at 3:06, which I feel is a pretty good deal. The TOP TE and 2 very solid RBs thru 3 rounds. Lookin' good.

I'm surprised as to what I've gotten in 3 rounds. I didn't like any of the RB in round 2 at my position so i took a shot with a QB which I generally don't take high, then every RB that I was going to take going into round 3 was taken before me. I can live with a starting 3 of Gronk/Brady/Welker from the 8 spot, week 9 might suck for me but a top 2 in QB/WR/TE for PPR leagues, is a great start

Guys, I hope you have 3 good players in the first 3 rounds. Everyone should. We're talking about the top 36 players in the NFL. The challenge isn't your first 4 or 5 picks, it's who can get the next 4 or 5 right.

i was mostly suprised by getting Welker. I put him on my predraft list "just in case" like 10 spots before i drafted thinking i wouldnt have a chance at him. Very suprised he fell to me

I briefly considered Welker at the 3.01 spot instead of Julio. My main reasons for passing on him was 1) while I think New England will obviously still be a pass oriented team, I disagree with most on how much passing they'll actually do. So I don't think the pie is going to be as big as many think it will be. 2) There are just so many weapons there that I can see the distribution being split so many different ways. Welker will still get his share, I'm just not convinced it'll be as much as he's used to. So much of Welkers value in this format comes from his ability to put up 120 something receptions. I'm just not sure I see that this year. I think he'll end up closer to 100/1100/6 than the 120/1500/9 he had last year. Ultimately, I don't blame someone for taking Welker as I think he has a pretty high floor, but his ceiling is kind of limited (at least imo). Julio I think has a much higher ceiling but albeit a lower floor.

I wasn't looking for a QB this early. But, Newton, at 4:07, I just couldn't pass up.
That seems to be the struggle for me this year....last year you could wait on Stafford until rd 5 or so and hit the jackpot....not sure there is an obvious "Wait for me" QB this year. I'm leaning toward Cam in Rd 4 myself

While I don't think Turner is a bad pick there, I don't think hes huge value either. Last year he posted 301/1340/11 17/168/0 - 233.8 fantasy points. The coaching staff has already mentioned lessening his work load this year in order to keep him fresh. Even if they only reduce his load by 10% that would work out to roughly 271/1206/10 15/148/0 - 210.4 fantasy points or 13.15 points per game. That would have worked out to roughly RB20 last year and you got him as the 21st RB off the board. To me he looked a lot slower last year so it seems like his age is catching up to him. He'll still score a ton of TDs, but he doesn't catch many balls which hurts him in PPR. Again, I don't think its a bad pick by any means, but its not amazing value either.

I don't necessarily disagree although I think that a few less carries will mean that he is fresh throughout the year. I also expect him to get a few more receptions. But, I am MORE than happy with 13.5 points per game from a FLEX. You need to average 135-140 points/game to win a FBGS league. That's 15 points/game from your starting 8 plus 12-15 total from your PK and DEF.

Well, I got Moore/Oak and Jackson/Philly in my sleep (pretty good drafting when you're asleep). Then Holmes/Jets first thing this morning. Moore, Jackson and Holmes aren't the 3 greatest, but I do expect Moore and Jackson to do better this year. You have to sacrifice something when you draft against good players. NOBY gets an "ALL STUD" team.

Can't believe that Best will be able to play, so I got LeShoure.
Detroits backfield is a ##### show. Who knows who will bw starting. Smith/Leshoure and Best. Don't forget they throw alot! Jones will get carries too. best will likely play some. The question is will he hold up.

Well, things have slowed to a crawl, so I'm going to evaluate my team now.

QBs--Newton, Dalton. Grade--A+. Newton is a stud. People are saying not to expect what he did in 2011. I say, "Why not?". Actually, maybe even more. Dalton is an excellent BU, especially in Week 14, where Newton has 1 of his toughest matchups.

RBs--Peterson, Bush/Mia, Turner, LeShoure and Vareen. Grade--B+. This grade will be an A+ if Peterson starts at the beginning of the year. 2 starters and a FLEX. I still feel Peterson will be back to his old self in Week 1. Bush and Turner are BOTH solid #2 RBs. LeShoure is 1 raindrop (falling on Best's head causing a concussion) away from the #1 RB in Detroit. Vareen will get plent of touches.

WRs--Jackson/Phi, Moore/Oak, Holmes, Little and Gordon. Grade--B+. Starting 2 from this group will be easy. There is plenty of opportunity to get a good FLEX player here, also.

TEs--Graham, Kendricks and Housler. Grade--A+. The #1 TE in FF. In addition 2 other TEs that could end up with break-out seasons. A solid bunch.

Analysis--I like drafting from the 6 spot. I, honestly think that this is a GREAT team. Can bad things happen? Of course, but bad breaks can happen to any team. I really don't see a weakness, on paper, anywhere on this team. Frankly (and my name's NOT Frank), if I can get this team in my REAL FBGs draft, picking from the 6 spot, I'll take it.

Thanks for letting me play.

I see newton as a very risky qb this year. I don't believe he will score the same amount of tds on the ground as last year (14). So I would not say this is an A+.. To me the only A+ is Rodgers and Brady. I do like your backup, but not enough.. My grade B

I think you have to get gerhart if you draft peterson. I don't like turner in the ppr format. So I would grade the rbs C+

WRs--Jackson/Phi, Moore/Oak, Holmes, Little and Gordon. Grade--B+. Starting 2 from this group will be easy. There is plenty of opportunity to get a good FLEX player here, also.

Lets just agree to disagree on these wrs. Jackson is too inconsistant for me to win a non draft masters league. Moore has shown flashes, but still hasn't proven to me he can do much. Holmes is not bad for a flex and I like the upside of little and gordon. My grade C-

TEs--Graham, Kendricks and Housler. Grade--A+. The #1 TE in FF. In addition 2 other TEs that could end up with break-out seasons. A solid bunch.

Of course I love graham as the number 1 te. also like your backups so I have this grade an A+

My analysis would be your team is going to need some great management weekly to win. You will be looking at matchups everyweek and have to get that correct for a win. I don't think overall this team on paper can compete for a championship

Thanks for letting me play.

For what it's worth!!!! In the Red vs Blue, which is the ONLY official FBGs draft that is broadcast and where you can get a "Draft Grid", there were 2 TEs taken in Rnd 1 (Graham at 1:04 and Gronk at 1:10), 2 more taken in Rnd 3 (Witten/Hernandez), and a total of 9 taken thru 6 Rnds.

And this mock had 9 taken through the first 6 rounds as well (although there were 3 in the third-Gates).

Ok so we are grading our teams. This is what I thought about my squad.

QB's

Rivers in the 6th is a very solid pick. He is rated around 5-7 which would make him a C. I believe with his upside and strong finish last year he would be a B-/C+

QB Philip Rivers SDC 6.10 7

QB Matt Cassel KCC 14.10 7

QB Matt Flynn SEA 15.03 11

RB's

Mccoy and Bradshaw are pretty damn good. McCoy is a top 3 RB and Bradshaw is a borderline RB1. DeAngelo is a starter who gets 50-60% of the carries on a running team. Blount is a wildcard. He could be the goal line guy maybe more or less. My RB's are a A-/B+

RB LeSean McCoy PHI 1.03 7

RB Ahmad Bradshaw NYG 3.03 11

RB DeAngelo Williams CAR 8.10 6

RB LeGarrette Blount TBB 12.10 5

RB Evan Royster WAS 13.03 10

RB Dion Lewis PHI 17.03 7

WR's are top notch. AJ, Dez and Maclin are all top 20 WR's. All 3 could be top 10. Add in Cobb and Youngs upside and this group is a A.

WR Andre Johnson HOU 2.10 8

WR Dez Bryant DAL 4.10 5

WR Jeremy Maclin PHI 5.03 7

WR Titus Young DET 10.10 5

WR Randall Cobb GBP 11.03 10

WR Vincent Brown SDC 16.10 7

Tamme and Cook are both borderline TE1's. I think thye have enough upside so we get a C-.

TE Jacob Tamme DEN 7.03 7

TE Jared Cook TEN 9.03 11

Overall I think this team is contending for sure. Strong RB's and WR's plus a solid QB. I think Cook has some big weeks.

My team:

QB: Brady and Luck. A rating

Brady and a newbie is how I would definitely do things of I went QB early. Though I don't think I like QB early seeing how my draft played out, more on that later

WR: Welker, Harvin, Austin, Sanders, Washington, Quick. A minus rating

Getting Welker with 3.08 changed my entire strategy. I thought he would go late second and I put him on my predraft list just in case. I had him ahead of all the RB taken in the third round before him and that's it. Getting him and seeing the crapshoot that was RB next pick moved me to full on upside down draft. Harvin could be top 12, Austin when healthy is steady. Washington should be ok especially with Britt out as of now.sanders and quick are fliers.

TE: Gronk, Moeaki. A minus.

I think graham is better but I thought what the heck I'll try it with Gronk. He is obviously dominant at the position but might have a hard time repeating last year thus will possibly not live up to his draft position.

RB: Hillis, wells, Ingrahm, Michael bush, Kevin Smith, Daniel Thomas, Dwyer. C minus rating

Obvious weak point as I went full on upside down after the Welker pick left me crappy RB to choose from in the fourth. Hillis should be borderline RB2 material. Smith will at least start the year as the number 1. Wells was a bad pickup as he is still on the PUP and Williams is running well (waited 1roubd too long for him). I'm basically counting on Hillis/Ingrahm/smith/Thomas to outperform their draft slot in order to compete.

Overall: B minus rating.

Could have a remote shot at winning the league but definitely not overall, basically would take an act from god to compete overall (2RB working out and zero injury). I think for this type of draft upside down will not work as intended
