FBG Floor Guys - Advice Needed (1 Viewer)

Having a new floor put down in my townhouse on the main floor.  Wife has already decided on espresso bamboo,  and I'm cool with it since I like the color and it should hold up ok with the two dogs we have.  The flooring place says it can be nailed or glued,  but if we glue then a pad isn't necessary (according to them).  This would save a big chunk of change,  but is it the correct way to go?

Also,  with the gray wall color paint she picked,  should we paint the existing oak trim white to better match the gray? And my installer suggested quarter round around the trim on the floor.  Agree/disagree? Most of the flooring pics I've seen have quarter round around the trim.

If it's me, I am nailing it instead of gluing it.

I would also put base shoe down instead of quarter round. And paint it and the baseboards white to really pop that gray color.

Thanks for the advice.  Naiing would require padding,  no?  We'll likely paint the trim,  as I agree the white should help pop the gray

I would nail it as well.  It its hardwood and it's not on concrete then you should be good without the pad.

Not on concrete,  it's a plywood subfloor.  Since it's the main floor,  the only thing below it is the garage (it's a tuck-under style townhouse), so sound shouldn't be an issue below.
