FBG's sleeping on two plays this week one rb on D (1 Viewer)

Knowshon Moreno and KC D.

Knowshon is coming of a recent injury, so everyone hates him blah. Hell, the audible said that he's a 'what the hell flex' play this week??? REALLY? He is a great back, and is apparently healthy (at least healthy enough to put up some nice numbers vs the Jets #1 run D) and the rst of that backfield sucks out loud. Oh yeah, he is playing the raiders, who have given out rushing yards like party favors this year. The only guy they stopped all year was tolbert, and he and moreno are clearly not the same kind of back. He could easily get 150 and 2 tds (one receiving) this week, as the raiders can't even decide who is healthy enough to play so that Kyle Boller is off the field. With the success that Orton and the WR's have had this year, and how putrid the denver running game has been (largely due to moreno's absence imho), you have to think the raiders gear up for the pass. So He would be seeing man 8/9 man fronts that often imho. If they bunch right and draw left (preferably wherever NA isn't) to moreno I could see him breaking some long runs on this ragged d.

KC D: Is tough. They did just get SHELLED by Houston. But Houston has a great offense and but for the giants handling of them no one even woulda played KC last week. But they have a solid young team with some young skillful players. They have insane special teams that could easily get you a TD. Pretty good pass rush. Oh yeah, they are playing the Jaguars, who are pretty putrid in their own right and Del Rio has pretty clearly lost this team. Oh yeah, BOTH of their Qbs are hurt and very likely won't play because of how beat up they were after playing tennessee. Garard has a concussion, and i forget what edwards hurt, but there is a very good chance that Todd ####### Bouman will be starting. KC also has a defensive MVP candidate in Flowers who will shut down MSW or Thomas. if it rains there could be 4 to's and 5-6 sacks to be handed out. (with 2-3 going to big glenn dorsey) and very few yards/points for leagues where that matters (like mine).

:excited:

ETA KC is at home and it's 'likely' to rain

Pretty sure this game is being played in KC so to re-enforce your point...KC is playing at home which is another huge plus.

Edwards hurt his thumb.

whoah. even better then. That place is tough to play. I can't imagine Bouman doing to well in a storm with crowd noise there.ETA: Rain Dance?

Regarding the KC DEF I could not agree more. I picked them up last week, did not play them and now dropped GB's DEF to play KC DEF for the next 6+ weeks.

Not to be a difficult, but the Jags v. Chiefs game is in KC rather than Florida as you suggest and the #2 QB injured for the Jags is Trent Edwards rather than Fitzpatrick who is the starting QB in Buffalo.

Otherwise you got it right.

:goodposting: Classic Hipple, I love it.

How in the world could you do all that and not know where they are playing??? Hilarious, that is probly the biggest selling point.

The other thing you left out is their next matchup, which is BUFFALO. I'll let you find out where that game is. :D

But yeah, love both calls just the same, and already picked me up some KC's Masterpiece earlier this week. LET'S DO THIS!

Don't quite agree with you on that point, but I do love the matchup. He is a solid RB2 this week.

Funny, I picked up KC to start and also have Seattle and FBG says Seattle is the top play and KC is a middle of the pack play...I am not sure about their defensive rankings, I usually go my own way.

fwiw I am starting KC d in a league where bad ds avg around -20 (1.3 per point allowed and 1pt for every 40 yds allowed) over Baltimore vs Buffalo. I think the bills put up more yds and points in garbage time than jax does. Plus fitzpatrick has that passing game working well, and the ravens pass d is blah (hopefully the return of ed reed changes that).

Starting KC this week over Niners @ Car and Ten v. Phi.

I am seriously considering dropping Ten and going with KC / SF for the rest of the yr.

also much in the same vein i said "#1" for the week. In Knowshon's case it might be #2. I just saw ray rice is hitting the bills. Wow he could score 40 in a ppr.

I'm rolling with KC in a league or two this week. I'm not as confident as you are but I like the matchup. I'm also starting Celek in a few leagues with Jackson out. Kolb is going to target him even more. I think that's a play not getting enough play

dude, that's the first quarter.if todd bouman makes todd collins look like a pro bowler will they just direct snap to mjd in the second half?

I remember a few years ago when delhomme had hurt his finger and was extra horrible they just gave up at qb.

at least if mjd is back there they probably stop throwing picks and just end up punting.

I'm battling over KC/Seattle too. Both appear to be great plays. Yahoo shares FBG's ranking of SEA much higher than KC. I'm leaning KC as Hall>>>Bouman.

Fantasy Spotlight: Knowshon Moreno primed to break out vs. Raiders

Orton's arm, Raiders' defense forming a perfect storm

By Cecil Lammey

Special to The Denver Post

Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno has a chance for big gains against the Raiders. (John Leyba, The Denver Post)

Denver Post fantasy football expert Cecil Lammey is a senior writer for Footballguys.com and an "NFL Insider" for Denver sports radio station The Ticket, 87.7-FM.

Email your questions to lammey@footballguys.com. Please mention your question is for "Denver Post Fantasy Football."

Mr. Lammey, I would like to say thanks for your great insights in The Denver Post. What do you think Knowshon Moreno will do this week against the Raiders? Should I feel safe in starting him this week?

--Dominic

Cecil Lammey: This could be a breakout week for Knowshon Moreno. He returned to the field last week against the Jets and showed better initial burst than he had earlier this year. The Raiders are not very strong against the run, so the opportunity is there for Moreno to have his first 100-yard rushing day of the season.

With Kyle Orton and the passing game being the strength of this team, it's unlikely that Oakland will stack the line to stop the run. This means wider rushing lanes for Broncos running backs. Moreno needs to avoid fumbling the football, and run with more authority when he breaks into the second level of the defense.

This is the NFL. KC D against a career benchwarmer Qb will naturally result in Bouman channeling Joe Montana and breathing life into a J'ville offense that usually resembles ROADKILL!

To bad I didn't write up my lee evans good for 2 tds prediction (though i did start him opposite Roddy white :kicksrock: )

But KC d almost had another score at the end too.

Let's see ho Knowshon does
