FBGs vs Kasparov- chess game- Draw agreed to (3 Viewers)

Actually, per my above variation a4 is refuted by bxa4 Nxa4 Bb3 Ra1 Bxa4 Rxa4 Rc7 and black is winning. So he won't play a4. Which then leads to the question what can he play after Kf8?

If we could get the bishop to a5 then maybe we can take the pawn
No way to do that while the knight is on c5. And the knight will only move to attack one of our rooks so we don't have time to play with the bishop.

I have looked and looked and can't see any way through except to move the king toward the queenside. But I also can't see what white does in response.

Hi everybody. This new board is weird.

So Ive spent a long time looking at this and it seems to me the only way we can avoid a draw is Bf6 Red1 Rd5 Be6 Kf8 (I am assuming White's moves here because anything else is to our advantage.)

Even if we get the king to the queenside we probably still can't win that pawn because White can move his king towards the center as well. For instance

g3 (to prevent Bh4 later on) Ke8 Kf2 Kd8 Ke1 Kc7

from this position Rcd8 is our next move. That doesn't win the pawn. But after e5 dxe5 Rxd2 Rxd2 Rxd2 Kxd2 Bxe5 we would win a pawn since the bishop attacks g3 and b7. And even if we don't end up in this exact position, we still have a reLatively open board with both bishops vs a bishop and a knight. That endgame should favor us.

Obviously this is a lot to think about but I recommend Bf6 moving toward this variation and I think we should decide.

Man the board upgrade really came at a bad time for my enjoyment of this thread. I probably need to start back on post one but at 46 pages so far that is unlikely.  Will there be a round 2?

Who knows? Why not start from the position I just posted and try and help us out?

OK, mistake, I thought we were running out of time. Turns out we have 3 days for each move, so I still have over 24 hours. However, I really would like some feedback here, thanks.

Good. Let's play it and see what happens. I don't think we're hurt by it in any way. We don't have to go with my entire plan (King to the queenside) if somebody finds a flaw or finds something better. But let's start with this for now.

Bf6.

Kaspy plays Red1 as expected. I now intend to continue with Rd5 as we discussed, but I'll wait until morning in case someone brings up something we haven't considered.

New board has half the number of posts per page by default.  It threw me off too as I was pretty sure we were on page 23 before the upgrade.

I must be missing something. How are we going to get the king to the queen side with the bishop just guarding any path across?
Idea is after Rd5 he'll play Be3. If he doesn't we might try Bg7 and force a decision. But the king move is based on Be3.

Bob you're right about Him moving his king to e3. But even if he does, IF we can line up the rooks, push our e pawn and trade both rooks that leaves us in an endgame with with two bishops which has got to be to our advantage.

We're in a Carlsenesque position where we can keep trying stuff risk-free until he either makes a mistake or we get a draw.
I think that's right. And a draw against someone of Kaspy's skills would be quite an accomplishment. But I think we should try to breakthrough. Even if we stumble and end up losing its a good learning experience (the real point of this exercise) to exhaust the possibilities if we can).

(But it if this were me alone vs Kaspy here I'd happily settle for a draw right now.)
