Some co-workers and I were talking about lucky things that have happened to us, and I thought it might make a good thread.
It's not much but for me, it was 6 a.m. in Vegas after a night out. My buddy and I decided to grab some food before going back to our rooms. After the meal, we had just four quarters left between us, so we decided to toss them into a slot machine. We hit for $12, took the little receipt to the cage, and cashed it out. We put that into another slot, and on the third pull, we hit for $400. We took that receipt to the cage and had the same girl cash us out. We decided we were done—until we walked past a roulette wheel. I said we "always bet on black," so, of course, my buddy put it all on red... and hit. We took those chips back to the same girl at the window, split the money, and went to bed.
Either that or discharging from the Air Force 9 days before 9/11.
