The dozens of case studies, well, before Jersey Shore, could pretty much be put in one of these three categories:

1. OMG! That's so cute! I love cats, do you love cats?! That's SO funny!

2. Hey, so..... (crooked smile, kind of shifting shoulders) what's up with your shirt?....

3. That shirt IS awesome.

Mostly subtle, a point and a laugh usually. A few times people have asked me where they could get one, most recently at a Billy Joel show two weeks ago. I've learned to lie about my cat stance. "Oh yeah, cats are great..."

At work yesterday, one of the nurses looks at my shirt and asks "is that a burrito?"

I rise from my seat, place my fists on my hips, puff out my chest and exclaim, "Nay, wench! IT'S A PURRITO!!"

Silence fell across the unit. Somewhere in the distance an infusion pump emitted a solitary beep.

The nurse fell to her knees, grasped for my ankles and wept, begging me to make her mine.
