Fellow LT Owners -- How many of you have Sproles (1 Viewer)

I have Sproles, but I'd like to pick up Reggie Brown, Andre Hall, or another FA.

Is it worth it to have LT's backup?

Thanks.

I don't since I'm waiting to see if it's Sproles or Hester who would be the main backup. In my league, which has 7 bench players, there just isn't enough room to handcuff two guys to the same guy.

if something were to happen to LT2, would Sproles be startable? I have my doubts.

eta: depending on your league size, of course.

Nope.

Not big on handcuffs. I'd rather have a starting RB on another team than the back-up of my best RB.

Think about it, would I be plugging Sproles in to my starting lineup if LT went down? Doubt it, but would plug another starting RB in.

odds are you're not getting another starting rb at the slot where sproles would get drafted, so that analogy is not a valid one. Asking if sproles would be a starter for you if LT went down is a very valid question, however. This is always the key when deciding to cuff. In case of sproles, its a borderline case, because he is fairly explosive, but would he be the primary rock toter? WOuld he be able to handle that load? What about Hester? These questions lead you to believe he won't be worth much if LT went down, thus I wouldn't cuff him. Instead, I'd opt for a ray rice, or one of the many other backups that were drafter later in the draft that you could see starting in your lineup if they became the starter due to injury of poor performance by the guys ahead of them. Too many rookies fitting that bill this year to waste time with sproles IMO. Now all that goes out the window if you're doing auction ofcourse. There the price might be right to stash him away on the bench...

I think Sproles is explosive and would be the between the 20 guy, with Hester taking the GL carries.

He was one of my last picks. LT is coming off of a knee injury and you never know what could happen. My RB's need a little work so I took a flier on him.

Same here.I did think about it, but held off.

Don't own LT, but the guy in my 14 team $$$ league who does traded Chester for Sproles this week :potkettle:

Must have been that nice pre-season game b/c he had Hester (dropped).

I would guess Sproles could be the between the 20s guy, w/ Hester in the short yardage and red zone. RBBC sharing the points if LT goes down.

I think Sproles would be one of the between-the-20s guys, along with Hester. I do think Hester would get most of the goal line carries, but Sproles may get a few shots down there as well.If I had to pick between Sproles and Hester as a handcuff to LT, I'd pick Hester.

I agree, but I wouldn't bother with either one of them.

I didn't draft Sproles, but I just picked him up this week. Normally not a handcuffer, but the league I have LT in has deep rosters. I have 4 starting RBs, then Sproles.

I think he'd be an average RB2 if LT went down, so he has more upside than Deuce McAllister, Ahman Green, or Kevin Jones IMO.

you sure sproles is the number 2? depth charts show hester as the number 2 <---fellow LT owner who is paranoid

There isn't a #2, there's a 2A and 2B. If LT2 went down both Sproles and Hester would get carries, probably making both no better than a RB #4.
