It used to affect my mood a lot more, but I've found I haven't been as affected by fantasy results since I've had children, probably because a dirty diaper doesn't care whether you're playing against AD or not. The key for me is doing something with the family so I'm not just planted in front of the tv and hovering over my computer, agonizing over each game involving my players. I've also noticed the good weeks have a stronger positive effect on my mood than the negative effect brought on by bad weeks. The only problem is I've had too many bad weeks lately.

I only get frustrated when I "know" I'm supposed to win with matchups like (i.e.) LT against Houston: for me. Julius Jones at Philly: him. Especially when it is the league r-e-t-a-r-d whom you're 'guaranteed' two wins against.

Who am I kiding, all losses piss me off - just some more than others.

when i win somewhat

when I lose immensely

it's sad really, a hobby which when you are doing well gives you only some happiness but when you lose the world may as well end

I could not agree more with this comment. In 2003 I lost a high stakes contest on Monday night to Favre (dad died game), Green and GB Defense. If I had started Marty Booker on my team that week I win the $15,000 going away. Instead I lost by 5 points, costing me $10K (difference between 1st and 2nd). I went apeshti that Monday night, it was ugly. In Feb 2004 my first child was born. She has become way way more important to me than this game or anything else. I'm not sure if it was the birth of my child, or I finally realized this is a just a game and luck plays a huge part. But since then I may get pissed for a few seconds but then I just put it behind me. There is nothing you can do about the past so don't let it haunt you. Acknowledge the anger, disappointment, or whatever you feel then move on. Life is way to short to get angry, sad, depressed over a game.Don't think I'm not competitive because I am extremely competitive. This season I have invested $3000 in high stakes FF teams. I hope to turn this into at least $10,000. I would not be doing this if I didn't think I was good at the game, and was also a very competitive person. But guys getting pissed will not change a thing!

The fortunes of my fantasy team don't affect me at all. The fortunes of the Dallas Cowboys are an entirely different matter.

this is a great topic, i find myself right in the middle of this very issue this year......so far, the family is winning and i may end up taking a big step back in next couple years
Don't cave dirtyaholes. Incorporate them onto your team, make them assistant coaches.
:lmao: at dirtyA-holes.
:bag:
that is pretty funny!
3 days later and it still makes me chuckle!
