Do you ever feel betrayed by an NFL team as a FF owner? (1 Viewer)

I feel betrayed by Ben and the Steelers as a Mike Wallace owner. I want to hear all of your guys past and present but I'll get us started. Let me preface this by saying that I understand The Steelers will do what they feel is best to win. I am basing this thread for pure greedy and jealous reasons. It has nothing to do with real football but instead will serve as my self loathing pen to paper.

Anyways, we've all had fantasy football players that we have attached ourselves to and most have been for the right reasons. In everyones years of playing FF we have become our fantasy football players. We get personaly offended like a diva WR not getting the ball when our player isn't getting the eye of his offense. If you say otherwise you are selling vaccums.

Ok, now that I got the preface out of the way I'll get to the point. As a Mike Wallace owner in just about every important league I was a proud father of the shiniest toy in the game. He was a PPR stud as well as getting 19 YPC and a TD almost every early game. Now I feel like Wallace is the hot wife that had a great first year of marraige but the husband has gotten eyes for another girl. At first Big Ben stopped taking Wallace to dinner, but eventualy Ben just stopped coming home. He doesn't look to Wallace unless it's called in the huddle. Wallace is now just the hot decoy that the husband takes to company events to hold pretences. Wallace just runs downfield every down and draws both coverage while Brown is thrown to whether he's open or not.

There are none of the early plays. None of the screens, none of the end arounds, no slants. All of those are now going to Brown. Wallace has to vulture a TD when he was wide open a few weeks ago to get his love. Even then Brown throws a temper tantrum that Wallace stole his ball.

So, with that said, who are your guys that you have felt betrayed as an owner. Could be in years past or current.

I may feel stupid for playing Julio Jones today but I never feel betrayed. There are many factors that go into a player having good stats in any given week and some of it luck, or in Jones' or Wallace's case, lack thereof. If you let this hobby get to you that bad then it's time to find another hobby.

wallace dropped his own 60 yd td tonight. blame him. Ball hit him in the hands. Then on his other deep ball he made no effort to find the ball when it could have been caught with a slight adjustment.

There's certain guys that just don't seem to produce when they're on my team, and some guys that seem clutch for my team. You never can tell in this hobby, so I just avoid guys that pissed me off in the past...Mark Ingram will have a hard time being on one of my teams in the near future, and Willis McGahee only likes to have good games when I don't start him. Marvin Harrison always seemed to play clutch for me...there's no point arguing with the Fantasy Gods, just suffer through it and learn...

I sympathize with the OP. Its obvious he has not evolved past that point of his life where the realization hits us and tells us that this isn't real. Its a total crap shoot, and it can be maddening if you actually go out and try to approach it with the amount of time, effort, and studying that it appears that all of us posting in places like this actually do.

And I don't say in a bad way to the OP. I AM one of those guys. I did it (still do sometimes), but I think I finally hit my own personal evolution (wall) last year and this year.

It took a lot of beating into me (I must be dense), but I finally am on board with the fact that the best players don't win. The obscure, non-descript players affect you more than your studs ever will. All the planning and "strategizing" in the world can not prepare you for the crapshoot that is once the playoffs arrive.

And there is no conspiracy theory, despite the fact that you can probably offer up evidense to support that your team ALWAYS has the injuries while others do not, that your team ALWAYS plays the guy that has the career day when you play him (and then prompltly goes back into the witness protection program), that you ALWAYS have the second highest score everytime you face the guy with the higherst, etc, etc.

The one statement of seriousness is all this: You ca't take it serious. Its a hobby; a past time. A vehicle to find a way to make watching the Jaguars Vs. the Browns on Sunday night worth watching. You started playing FF because you love football. You can't let FF make football miserable for you.

No. I think it's silly to do so as much as it is to insist that NFL teams owe anything whatsoever to fantasy players. Disappointment, absolutely. Betrayal or sense of entitlement, never.

Every time Andy Reid forgets that LaSean McCoy is on his team. Good God, I would hate to be an Eagles fan right now.
i dont care if there is 13 in the box, give it to McCoy.Morningweig or however you spell needs to get some sense knocked into him.Eagles 4n1 when Mccoy runs for 100 yards, 0n6 when he does not.i want to say this to him as if he is special, "why do you not feed mccoy?", i would love to hear his answer.it was unacceptable to not give him the ball once when they had 1st and Goal from the five.

I got Eli Manning and Roddy White for Wallace a few weeks ago. I saw what was happening with Brown and I did not like it. Sold high and hit pay dirt!

Mendenhall is my biggest disappointment. I got a sick enjoyment watching Moore fumble yesterday on the goal line like a spiteful ex girlfriend watching their ex-lovers pain.

Wallace also dropped an easy TD pass in the endzone last night. Players have bad games, last night Wallace had one.

I was with the "You need a new hobby" line until I read this. #### yeah! Even as a Steelers fan, I had to crack a little grin on that one.

betrayed by "fantasy" football players. There's something deeper here.
Did you even read the post before you googled a pshycology page to figure out the problem. The thread is completely sarcastic and if you or anyone else bothered to read the carefully worded preface you'd see that it is only a passtime thread. The thread, while being an attempt at sattire, is something that any FF player has discussed or thought of in the past. I have been playing FF since I was 10 years old and I've seen countless of situations like the one I brought up and I thought it would be a clever alternative to the collective pissing on players and members in the other threads. Instead you and a few others decided to bring nothing to it with the exception bringing the piss pouring.
