FF = More than just a game (1 Viewer)

A dear friend passed away today after a struggle with Cancer.

We were coworkers for 2 years back in the 90's. That's when I started our FF league. Six of the original 10 are still in the league today even though many have gone in different directions.

Terry was one of the originals and was a great man with a great sense of humor. Last week he was in the semi finals and still submitting his lineup. He laughed and shook his head when we asked him if he wanted to sit Aaron Rogers that week.

A few years ago he almost left because of some conflicts during that season. I'm glad I talked him into staying so we all got to enjoy his company for a few more years.

People sometimes laugh at folks that play FF, but it's more than just a game IMO. It's about friendships.

Honestly though, it really is true. FF isn't just the game, it really is about the camaraderie and bond you share with your buddies. As everyone gets older, married, has kids, this remains the one constant, and the one definite thing you will always have and keep going.

I lost my best friend this past week, he was a friend before I got him into FF back in 2007, but FF was a fun part of our friendship.

No, unfortunately he didn't win. It would have been nice to have him know he was in the finals even though he passed this morning and wouldn't have known if he would have won.

i can't imagine how many friends i would've lost touch with without ffl
