Recently started a career with Wolverhampton. They seemed like a good team to use because there really is not anyone worth keeping around long term. You can start with a blank slate. I actually played the entire first season over the past week winning promotion/league on the last day and lost the FA cup final to Newcastle.

I took the initial budget and was able to request enough new funds to buy a young, high-potential player at each position while leaving the core starters intact. Here is what that lineup of acquisitions would look like:

Benzia -- Rafinha

Piazon Redmond

Mbaye Gabriel

L. Shaw - Luiz Eduardo - N. Ake - E. Hewitt

Cragno

Outside of Redmond, everyone has started growing pretty well.

I had a question about transfer funds. Do they accrue each year with winning competitions? Seems like my budget was little changed in the second seaon.
Unless you pay for a takeover, I've found that your budgets don't go up all that much except to the extent that you can develop young players and bank more money. But I've played very little manager mode on 14. On 13, I cheated and bought the takeover while in League One with Sheffield United. I think I got 5 million or so in a league where 2 million is the normal upper limit. I used it to buy young high Championship/EPL reserve caliber players. From then on, I financed all my buys with guys I had developed.

I think I could have done it without the cheat, but it would have probably taken at least one more season.
Sure is frustrating trying to get a good price on everyone, I ended up with something like 20 transfer requests out a time waiting to see who I can afford. Fun though.

I think Fifa keeps yelling at me that Sebowski is using Wolves as well, curious what he had done with them.

I'm using the takeover without hesitation. With a lower league team like Wolves it isn't enough to ever build a team of all-stars, and I don't want to turn and burn players. I don't ever really want to sell anyone I bought unless they piss me off (looking at you right now, Vietto). I'm a loyal fella and I want to see my players progressing if they are playing well. Then I want to keep them. My best XI right now

Krul

Cancelo Brooks Eduardo Shaw

Mangala

Mix Vilhena

Correa

Vietto Ibarbo

Notable backups:

RB Yedlin

CB Zuoma (plan on dumping off for a ham sammich)

LB Grimaldo (grabbed him instead of Klute)

CMD Romero (start him LM on a big game with a full week before and after)

RM Gnarby

FW GATT!!!!!! -White Lightning is the best super sub eva. 2 seasons in up to a 98 sprint and 97 acceleration. Also finishes like crazy despite his low finishing stat

FW Martial Felt cheap going for him, but, well.. did. Grows for no reason which makes me feel better about guys I have that aren't growing for #### even though they are playing well.

I'm trying to be cautious with this next offseason. I'm doing multiple saves to see what I want to really do with my 50mil kitty. I think I want to upgrade my CAM the most. I want a Requelme type at my #10. I also want a world class CB and am thinking about upgrading at ST at the expense of Vietto if the budget works out. I also have a short bench and paid for it last season when I had games every other day for multiple week for some reason.

Hi... :oldunsure: . I'm addicted to FIFA 14 FUT.

Is this where we talk about the computer making our players with pace run in quicksand and how their players have 10' long legs to poke the ball away?

Yes, that is one of the topics on the table. Stupid computer. I really hate when they decide that no matter how much you are taking it to them they just aren't going to let you win.

I'm starting to wonder if it is worth spending 30mil on an elite player. My current plan s to get young players trending into the 80s, but now 'm thinking maybe going for a striker that is already in the 84 range may be worth it. Any thoughts? What are some of you favorite young strikers?
