I didn't think it was a "fine-able" offense..had a bet with the g/f.. she thinks it was, I didn't think so. GOOGLE wasn't very helpful in finding the answer, I figured someone here would know the answer....
Found 2 answers, one came from Plaxico's celebration last year when he threw the ball WAY up in the stands:
The NFL fines players $2,500 dollars for throwing the ball into the stands in situations like that. As an example, the New York Giants' Plaxico Burress was fined that amount earlier this season after catching a game-winning overtime touchdown against the Eagles.
Here is another stance that also refers to the collective bargaining agreement:
Throwing football into stands-maximum fine of $200.
