Finley vs Daniels (1 Viewer)

Snatched up Daniels when another owner dropped him. But we have a superflex so I start Stafford every week while Daniels has been racking up points on my bench. There is no question that Finley is more gifted physically, and on a level playing field Finley would dominate week in and week out.

That's the problem. With Finley you never know what you'll get from week to week. Yet Daniels is shaping up to be a model of consistency.

This year the targets are virtually the same (Finley = 24, Daniels = 23) but Red Zone targets favor Daniels almost 2 to 1 (9 compared to Finley's 5).

I would love to see what you all think about this. Personally I don't think my roster is strong enough to plug in a high-ceiling guy like Finley when I have a reliable stud like Daniels on my bench. Would you still see Finley as a must-start, or would it be better to move one of these guys via trade? I've tried to move Daniels but Finley's got much more name recognition and I might be able to land a solid WR starter for him.

I guess I can't tell if I'm panicking and over-thinking things, or if I have a legit argument to lean towards Daniels. I'd appreciate your input!

If I had Daniels sitting on my bench, I would be actively looking to deal Finley. With AJ potentially missed some time, Daniels is the biggest weapon the Texans have at the receiver positions. Finley has always been overrated - GB has too many mouths to feed and he hasn't been able to stay healthy.

Daniels missed his share of games the past 2 years too. I wouldn't assume that either is going to miss time this year, though. Both are really good.

According to Rodgers Denver was trying to take Finley out of the game Sunday. Based on the results I would be surprised to see teams do the same thing going forward, but every week is different in the NFL.

I'd say so. I was amazed at Rodgers and Finley's corresponding stat lines. You can't really overplay anyone on that offense without getting torched. Playing them straight up seems like the best bet to slow them down.

How does that make sense? You think a shell defense with m2m coverage is going to stop the Packers? You have to try something. They thought taking away Rodgers security blanker was the answer. The Bears were effective at slowing the offense last year. If you are gonna lose, might as well go down fighting and trying some strategy.

How's it make sense? The outcome of the game might be an indicator. I'm not sure you can stop them at all regardless of the defensive strategy.

The most underrated TE vs the most overrated TE. I'd say you're right, they are about equal. It took a few weeks for that to become clear due to concerns over Daniels' health.

I'd rather have a player who gets a TD most weeks, than one who gets multiple TDs a few times & goose-eggs just as often. Consistency matters a lot IMO.

Dont know the stats, but the S most teams use to double AJ usually gloms onto the Texans TE1 when the big guy is out and pretty well bottles up that poor sap. Since Hou will seemingly never upgrade WR2, at least their tremendous run blocking requires xtra attention or i'd have a sell order on all their pass personnel.
