Firefly/Serenity (1 Viewer)

I am not against reboots as a rule, but it is so hard for me to imagine most of the characters portrayed by anyone else but the originals.  I think I just love the original too much.

Yea it's been 14 years now. They've all moved on to other things. Maybe that could be the idea but would it have the same theme? Plus they killed off a bunch of them in Serenity.

Well, Nathan Fillion isnt doing anything right now....
He made more than a couple of cameos of his Mel character when Castle was still on the air. would be fantastic if this came to fruition, but agree that i can't imagine watching it without the actual cast back together. is Suits still running? Zoe is busy running a law firm.

was only the pilot who died and the bad guy, no? may have to watch it again, it's been too long.

Yeah the Halloween ep where he was dressed as Mal was awesome. I think suits might be on?

Shepard and Wash I believe.

I want to be clear that when I use the term "reboot" I am talking about returning to the same time frame, retelling a similar story with new actors in the old roles.

I would be totally on board with the original cast set 15 years in the future from Serenity.  I don't consider that a reboot, to me that is just a continuation of the original story.  No different than say Star Wars Episode VII.  That was not a reboot to me, that was just continuing the story.

The new Star Trek movies are more of a reboot to me.

I dont want a reboot, would want a continuation.

Some people one another board were proposing that Whedon could write new stories for new characters in the "Firefly-verse", and that characters from the original series could make occasional cameos.

As for a new continuation series: Ron Glass passed away last year, and Alan Tudyk's character didn't make it through Serenity. Other than Morena Baccarin being in the Deadpool franchise (assuming she's done with Gotham[?]) and whichever one is on Suits (thought that was cancelled?) ... seems a good chunk of the cast could be re-assembled.
