First rookie QB since Marino with 100-plus rating in his first two sta (1 Viewer)

Being a redraft FF owner, I pretty much dismissed Andy Dalton. Rookie QB throwing to a rookie WR1? No thanks.

Pretty impressive back to back road games to start his career. Now he's home against the 49ers. Doesn't have the big arm, but he seems like he's got a high football IQ, accurate, and makes good decisions. No turnovers, and they took some shots downfield against Denver.

You don't want to start him against Baltimore or Pittsburgh, but he has a very decent schedule between now and the end of byes (weeks 5-9 and 11). Pretty sure you find him on most WW.

102.4 10 - 15 81 1 0

107.0 27 - 41 332 2 0

Seems like a cheap bye week filler for 2011 redraft leagues.

3 Sun, Sep 25 San Francisco (1-1)

4 Sun, Oct 2 Buffalo (2-0)

5 Sun, Oct 9 Jacksonville (1-1)

6 Sun, Oct 16 Indianapolis (0-2)

7 Bye

8 Sun, Oct 30 Seattle (0-2)

9 Sun, Nov 6 Tennessee (1-1)

10 Sun, Nov 13 Pittsburgh (1-1)

11 Sun, Nov 20 Baltimore (1-1)

12 Sun, Nov 27 Cleveland (1-1)

13 Sun, Dec 4 Pittsburgh (1-1)

14 Sun, Dec 11 Houston (2-0)

15 Sun, Dec 18 St. Louis Rams (0-2)

16 Sat, Dec 24 Arizona (1-1)

17 Sun, Jan 1 Baltimore (1-1)

Nice thread Bobby and you're right about Cinci and Dalton, easy schedule, decent to solid OL, Benson will have some good weeks, AJ Green is going to continue to do well, and Simpson is even worth a flyer as your WR5/6 type guy. They will have some stinkers along the way but most of the time they will be competitive.

Didn't he miss basically the 2nd half of the game in week 1? The SF and now the Tennessee games don't look like easy match ups right now.

I agree that Dalton is being overlooked, and is found on most waiver wires. I agree that he makes nice QB1 insurance and I especially like his week 8 matchup against Seattle. That works out well for us A. Rodgers owners. I have Grossman but if possible, I may dump him for Dalton. Nice thread Bobby. Good find.

Guy was truly something special to watch as a Frogs fan and it makes me giddy as a child to see him perform well in the pros.

As long as he doesn't revert to his college specialty of tucking and running straight into a linebacker for yardage, he should fulfill my prediction of game management skills and production similar to Big Ben. To be in the same company with Dan Marino is pretty special, even more so in a season where an 0-2 gunslinger is getting all the attention.

The guy has done decently for his team as an NFL QB doing what has been asked of him, but I'm not sure that makes him anything more than a guy to keep your eye on maybe. His zero interceptions are really his one major positive for him in both fantasy and his QB rating. He's 26th in the league in passing yards and tied with about 5 other guys for 14th in the league for passing TDs with 3.

I hate to go to this since I'm still not sold on the stat, but his QBR is 25th in the league. That's not really very impressive and I DO think it probably more accurately reflects his true value than QB rating. He's done a nice job of not making dumb rookie mistakes so far, but I think he's not a guy that will be very much help as a fantasy QB unless you play in a league that penalizes HEAVILY for INTs.

Just my .02.
