I wanted to know peoples opinions on why Fitgerald and Harrison are going a full round (sometimes more) ahead of their counterparts Boldin and R.Wayne.

Fitgerald and Boldin put up similar stats last year, while Boldin missed time. Wayne and Harrison were also close, except for the low amount of td's that R.Wayne caught, which easily could change this year.

To get a Fitgerald or Harrison, you're going need to use your second round pick (ADP 2.06 & 2.09 respectively) while Boldin and Wayne are slipping to the 3rd in most drafts, maybe even the 4th if you're lucky.

2nd round RB's: Mcgahee, Westbrook, J.Jones

3rd round RB's: Jamal, Chester, Bush.

personally i think i would take a 2nd round RB and lock up boldin in the third...any thoughts?

Lots of discussion about Boldin and Fitzgerald:

and HEREAs to Wayne and Harrison, I can't see why Harrison SHOULDN'T be taken a round or two earlier. Harrison's body of work is among the best in NFL history, he's consistently elite. Not so for Wayne.

Harrison has seven consecutive top 10 fantasy seasons under his belt
Wayne has one top 10 fantasy season to his credit, sandwiched in between seasons where he ranked 20th and 21st. Last year, he ranked 21st...and fell well short of his ADP

Shut your mouth and let's just keep this between us. ;)

Can Owens and Glenn be considered in the same class as the above WR's?

I really think Owens/Glenn might be the most talented tandum in the league. No, they won't have as many opportunities and the other two combos because those offenses inherently throw more, but I think they might have the most talent of any two WR's in the league.

Back to the original question, Boldin and Fitz are about even. Boldin's injury history puts him slightly lower.

Harrison and Reggie are about even because of Harrison's age. So, you make a good point that Bolding and Reggie Wayne are actually better value plays than their counterparts.

Harrison is also a year older, and coming off offseason surgery. I'm not saying that Boldin and Wayne should go in the 2nd, i just think that they are better value picks then their counterparts...

i agree- I would pass on Harrison early and take Wayne in the next round as I think the upside is better. For some reason, Fitz seems to be a sexier pick than Boldin although in the 14 games Boldin started last season, his fantasy production per game was better than Fitz. I would wait till the 3rd round and take either Boldin or Wayne and take that 2nd round runner rather than taking Harrison or Fitz in the 2nd round.

Glenn's had a weird career, and he's not your typical talent because of his mediocre measurables. I agree though, that he's got top notch ability.Johnson and Houshmanzadeh are also right up there. The hype on Moss and Porter has justifably dropped. One sleeper combo is Moulds and Johnson, two guys that could really shine if they had legit QBs. Both have looked like studs at times.
