Fitzgerald (1 Viewer)

Fitz's yards have been sporadic either way, but at least with Skelton he was scoring some TDs (4 of his total 6 although one was thrown by Bartel). Still, I hear folks saying that Fitz is better off with Kolb under center. Is it just me or does he seem more productive with Skelton?

It is possible that Kolb as a better QB in general may do a better job of spreading the ball around and maybe Skelton locks into Fitz. Still from a fantasy perspective that would help Fitz's value.

What are your thought, does Kolb's return ultimately help or hurt Fitz?

Larry was averaging 4.8 receptions, 86.1 yards, and had 2 TDs in 7 games with Kolb.

His numbers with Skelton/Bartel are a bit more pedestrian other than the TDs. He averaged 4.25 receptions, 71.25 yards, and had 4 scores in 4 games. The Philadelphia game obviously pads those stats.

I'd rather have the QB producing higher yardage and reception totals. Getting Kolb back will give Fitzgerald and the Cardinals' offense as a whole a little boost.

I think Kolb is a more talented QB than Skelton or Bartel. The problem I had with him as a Fitz owner was he didn't have enough confidence in Fitzgerald to throw him the ball even when he was covered. Skelton and Bartel both did that, especially in the Red Zone (another place Kolb seemed reluctant to target Fitz). So the potential for TDs was higher when Kolb was out. My hope is Kolb spent his time away from the starting lineup realizing that he needs to trust in Fitzgerald's talent even if the coverage looks difficult. If he does that then I think Fitz owners will be a happy bunch the rest of the way.

Short-term: Not sure it matters a lot. Kolb probably makes the yardage numbers more consistent but the back-ups seem more willing to chuck it up to Fitz in the red zone.

Long-term: it's definitely better if Fitz & Kolb get as much game experience together. More than anything, Kolb needs game reps to get better. Despite years of discussion about his game, upside, and trade possibilities he's still a very young QB in terms of starts.

Fitz got his last year with bad qbs, he is getting his this year with bad qbs ( both of them). He will return to the stud he is if and when Arizona gets a good quarterback. Not sure it matters much.

The guy is dead to me. Great player... terrible QB play. So he simply can't be trusted.

If he has a game going forward with 140 yards and 2 TDs, he'll do it on my bench.

Why would you ever draft a top WR with a new QB? I don't know what I was thinking this year. He's been solid but not WR1 solid.

Lesson learned

Kolb just isn't good enough to get a star player the ball when he's covered well, and the defense knows it. :X

The bad news is that the front office is looking at the win column and Kolb got them that today. I am tired of the guy and miss Skelton...he forced the dang thing to Fitz and Kolb is just too afraid to do that.
