Five Guys thread, a 130+ page swordfight. (2 Viewers)

Went to Taco Bell for the first time in a while.

Looks like they are still putting all of the sour cream on one side of the burrito. No matter which Taco Bell I go to they've never been able to distribute the ingredients evenly on the inside of the burrito. Hate it.

Also, the grilled stuffed burritos have a lot more bean/cream slop than they used to have.

DO they have the Fries Supreme in the Taco Bells down in the States yet?

They must.... I just remember when friends on sports rides returned home over xmas theyd want to smash taco bell fries supreme, as they didnt have them in the states.

probably the only thing worth eating there, imo... and surprised I loved it so much as a teen... it's raunchy

They opened up a Chick Fil A a mile from my house... idiots were camping out in the rain the night before the grand opening. I'll stop by this afternoon. :bag:

I swung by the In-N-Out in Hollywood last night at 6pm and it was virtually empty; we ordered and got our food all within 3 minutes. Apparently Mondays and Tuesdays are very slow at that location according to employees.

Chick Fil A does some promotion where the first 100 people at a new location get a free meal every week for a year. That is why you get all those people camping out. I wondered the same thing when they opened one by mean and someone told me about the promo

I heard about this as well, except I was told it was 50 people.

Yeah - I may be off on the details. People do crazy stuff for something "free".

Chick-Fil-A and I still have a steamy on again off again romance.

Why the hell do I always want it on Sundays.

There are no CFAs within 100 miles of me, which is a good thing for my health... but I love it when I travel and run into one. For some reason I seem to go through airports with CFAs on Sunday only, though

Also, the Minneapolis airport CFA doesn't have chicken tenders.

The tenders are good at CFA but I don't get the appeal of their standard chicken sandwich. The chicken is fine but with the bun and meager spread it's just dry and boring overall.

This is just wrong on every level
Their is barely any spread. I have to pour sweet n sour in the chicken sandwich to make it edible. Ranch would work too. Anything. It's chicken between a bun. No lettuce or cheese iirc. Boring.

You know, you can get it with cheese and/or lettuce.

But the chicken between a bun option is just fine too (though I gotta have that pickle).

I think the "classic" offering has pickles and some type of spread. But you'd barely notice it. It's like ordering chicken tenders then you get home and realize they forgot the dipping sauce.

The CFA spicy chicken deluxe is deeeelishus.

But did anyone notice that their little chunks of ice don't make the drinks very cold? Maybe it's just me.

Going to in&out for the first time ever tonight.

What should I order?
Double double (or 2x4 to maximize gooey meltiness) Animal style, fries (not animal style) and a vanilla shake. You can also skip the not so good fries and use the calories to go 3x4.

Got the double double with no onions. It was okay-good. Not out of this world good. The bun on the burger was great but honestly, if we are discussing meat only, I'd say BK's flamegrilled burgers are better. 5g's burgers, although greasier, are better as well, imo.

The fries were not good at all. They tasted (and felt) like dry cardboard.

100% correct. Good burgers, crappy fries (even when ordered well done).

I went to my first Red Robin this weekend. Ordered a Prime Chophouse Burger; now THAT was an awesome burger. Endless steak fries and the onion ring tower were also good.

Haven't read this thread and probably won't, but 5 Guys just opened up near me and I got the app on my phone.

I'm probably going to gain 10 lbs this year...

Great thread. You should
I don't know if I can get sucked in 93 pages of this, especially when I really don't eat much fast food.

And I'm not sure 5 Guys counts as fast. I got the app so I can pick it up when I walk in rather than waiting 15 minutes after ordering.

Red Robin makes some of the worst burgers in the history of mankind.
I thought they made a decent burger.

And their fries are awesome.

In n Out has to be the most overrated burger place int he history of fastfood.

Awful fries, just OK burger. Five Guys has a better burger (but just as bad fries)

:goodposting:

The Royal Red Robin is delightful as well.
Red Robin gets a bad rap because it's a chain, but it's actually pretty good. Not sure I've ever gone there and been disappointed with the food. One thing I wish they'd do differently is not use shredded lettuce, but I have that issue with anywhere that serves shredded lettuce on a burger.

You and I differ there. I love shredded lettuce on everything.

I love their standard RR Cheeseburger with relish, plus the fries with the RR seasoning salt on them. They're expensive, but occasionally my wife and I will go there and split a burger and the fries, which makes it pretty cheap. The unlimited fries and half of a relatively large burger are a filling, very good meal for me.

You're like one of those painfully obvious YouTube trolls aren't you? Do better next time, rookie.

That's a negative, Elvis. I ate there once and the burger was dry as hell. Ate at Culver's a few times and it's pretty good.

I agree with flap... RR burgers are bad. I have tried them multiple times. I do like many of their other menu items, but the burgers are not for me.
