You guys must be doing red robin wrong
Only logical explanation.Started as one outpost cart in a NY Park. It's now throughout NY and some burbs and growing. It's one of Danny Meyer's (Union Sq. Cafe and now a mini restempire.Never heard of Shake Shack and have never seen one anywhere I've been.
I went there for the first time a couple weeks back and had the RRR too. Very tasty.I went to my first Red Robin this weekend. Ordered a Prime Chophouse Burger; now THAT was an awesome burger. Endless steak fries and the onion ring tower were also good.![]()
The Royal Red Robin is delightful as well.
Del Taco fries. Thank me later. Was going to Menards and was starving..saw a Del Taco so I gave it a shot. Had 2 Originals and one chicken taco. For a fast food option the blew away Taco Bell.
rud alias?Got the double double with no onions. It was okay-good. Not out of this world good. The bun on the burger was great but honestly, if we are discussing meat only, I'd say BK's flamegrilled burgers are better. 5g's burgers, although greasier, are better as well, imo.
The fries were not good at all. They tasted (and felt) like dry cardboard.
Never been to Shake Shack, but the 5G's criticism's are well put here.I had Shake Shack a few weeks ago, and I pronounce Five Guys to be officially out of the conversation regarding best fast-food burgers. Shake Shack dominates it in just about every respect. It's a two-way race now between Shake Shack and In-N-Out, and the winner depends on whether you want the best food (Shake Shack), or the best value for the price (In-N-Out).

I love the fries and the topping choices, but for a place that specializes in burgers, the most basic components of that burger (patty and bun) are really lacking.

They have so much potential: Real potatoes, made fresh, fried in peanut oil etc.
But #######, if they are not always soggy/undercooked.
When I'm sick, these are heaven.Del Taco fries. Thank me later. Was going to Menards and was starving..saw a Del Taco so I gave it a shot. Had 2 Originals and one chicken taco. For a fast food option the blew away Taco Bell.
I used to think this, but any time we have returned lately, they have been less consistently good. We used to go there a lot with the kids, because they loved it and my middle son is a mac-n-cheese guy and they had a Stouffer's like mac-n-cheese, but occasionally (more on the road) have a Kraft-like substitute and stuff like that has us going elsewhere. There is also a couple more local burger places that I like better that are closer, so we haven't been to RR in many months now.Red Robin is delicious.
I think it depends on the restaurant. I haven't been to a RR that I didn't enjoy the burger. In my town there is a Zaxby's that is god awful, and I usually like Zaxby's. This one is terrible from the management to the register workers, to the food.I used to think this, but any time we have returned lately, they have been less consistently good. they aren't a national chain yet, but are expanding.Hard to compare burgers with a place that mostly in just one city in the country.
For those #####ing about the prices I doubt they will enjoy forking over the cash here but it's well worth it.First time I had it I got the SmokeShack Double and that alone was almost $10 but the burger was excellent so no complaints here. Not a huge fan of crinkle cut fries but they did them good enough I at least ate most of them.they aren't a national chain yet, but are expanding.Hard to compare burgers with a place that mostly in just one city in the country.

Looks like they are in 11 US states plus the Middle East, Russia, Turkey, and the UK.
also, if you followed this thread at all, how could you have not heard of them? they've been discussed often.

Why would you buy fries at a pizza place? "Yeah, I'd like a large pepperoni pizza... and I just don't feel like that's going to be starchy enough."There's a pizza place that serves those giant potato wedges. Each wedge is like 1/6 of a whole potato. Eating them is worse than cleaning out raingutters.
