Flex question (QB or RB, WR,TE) (1 Viewer)

I've been in a league for 8 years and have been pretty successful so far (I owe much of my success to this forum!). This year the commish has decided to change things up a bit. He's added the ppr element (1 pt per reception and .5 point per completion), all TD's are worth 6 points and most significantly the flex position can include the QB position (as well as RB, WR, TE). We start QB, 2 RB's, 2 WR,s, TE the Flex along with Def and K. I'm really struggling with my drafting strategy this year with the QB available in the flex.

Has anyone else ever been in a league with this scoring system and if so do you have any thoughts? When I tweak the VBD application to try and account for this setup it suggests taking QB's early and often. Unless I'm one of the first four draft positions (12 owner league) I'm tempted to go QB, QB in rounds 1 and 2. This really scares me. Thanks.

My league has had a superflex (QB/RB/WR/TE) position for a couple years now. We also have PPR but no bonus for completions (just completion pct.). That being said, QBs will almost always outscore a RB3 or WR3, especially in a 6 pts/TD league. Not sure which league hosting service you use, but check out the last couple years using the new scoring and lineup parameters and I think you'll see having two stud QBs will lead to a very fruitful season. However, if you're in a league with people who don't understand the impact a QB in the FLEX position is, you could grab one of the big guns in the first and probably wait until round 3 or 4 and grab Schaub/Romo/Rivers while getting a WR1 and RB1 in rounds two and three...

Trust the tool. One of my leagues is a 16 team with 1PPR, all TD's=6pts and +1 per completion and -1 for an incompletion. VBD shows 7 QB's in the top 13 players and then a huge dropoff after that with the next QB being #51 overall. It's very hard to make it to the finals in this league without a qualityQB.

I would not hesitate with your scoring to take 2 QB's in the first 2 rounds. It really depends on the scoring. (In my league Manning and Brees are projected at 400 points while MJD is at 230 points.)

haven't put a ton of thought into it and it would depend on your draft slot......but seems to me that with this scoring system, there is no question that your flex would be a QB meaning you should take two pretty early and think about a third to cover bye weeks/injuries because you don't want to be behind the 8 ball at that position.....getting .5 per completion makes me think I want two stud QB's for sure with my first two picks and then fill in the rest of my roster....

if every team starts 2 QB's each week....thats 24......a couple weeks with six teams on bye weeks, means there are two weeks where 24 out of 26 QB's could potentially be playing.....throw in a few injuries here or there, and some guys taking 3 QB's early, I would pull the trigger on two studs early.....and then get Ben as my third.... :goodposting:
