You're rounding out your roster with your final pick. You have no weakness at RB or WR. If LT's owner doesn't handcuff Michael Turner, do you pick him or do you try for a value receiver like Bobby Engram or Cedrick Wilson?

Do you try for the home run (Turner) or do you take the higher percentage swing hoping for a single or maybe a double?

By the time the last round rolls around, I already have a few "single" or "double" type of guys. Why not go for the home run? I grabbed Greg Jones (before injury) this year. :bag: But made up for it by taking Lundy off waivers. :banned:

Would Troy Williamson fall into the 'value WR' category. He was dropped in my league and just cleared waivers. I was thinking of dropping Turner for him.

But then I was thinking that LT kind of wore down a bit last year and thought that if I was Shottenheimer, I would give Turner some carries to spell LT. Turner has shown what he can do in pre-season and in the game vs Indy last year.

Any chance SD gives Turner 10 or so carries a game to keep LT fresh??

If so, does he have value going into the season and not just if LT gets hurt?

I picked him up in the last round of a 14 team draft.

Since it's your final pick, swing for the fences and go with Turner. He might do very little this season, but your one LT injury away from a top 5 RB, whereas the value of a fantasy bench WR is minimal.

not sure why people think truner is a top 5 rb if lt goes down? that is saying turner is as good as lt, as lt is a top 5 back. that is insane. he has never ever done it when it mattered in the beginning of a game against a good defense. turner is good, but not good like lj was last year coming off the bench. if turner is your starting rb it is likely you arent winning the league this year. count on that!

I would respectfully disagree. Here are the numbers from turner for the past two seasons. Granted, it's a limited sample, but based on these figures (particularly ypc), I'd say Turner could do rather well in the S.D. offense if LT goes down.

in 12 team leagues, I doubt that Turner will still be there . . . ditto for Engram . . .

Because perhaps of what most of us have seen when watching him. It's pretty safe to assume that you haven't seen the kid by your comments. There's nothing worse than someone with an uninformed opinion. :2cents:He had a 40+ yard run vs. Chicago's #1 defense this preseason. He had a 35+ yard TD scamper vs. Seattle's #1. I don't put much into preseason performances, but when these stats are coming vs. 2 of the Top 5 D's IMO in the league, I sure the hell ain't taking it lightly.

Love these superiority posts. Always very helpful with lots of information. If the roster sizes are small enough, or (as you seem to imply) if the owners aren't as savvy as you and everyone you play against, then it's possible they would be there.

i take preseason very very lightly. if you think the bears were running their regular season de you are mistaken. also, i never said turner wasnt good. he is. but there is no way he is a top 5 rb. if he is a top 5 rb, he is as good as lt and that just aint true.

I have to say, GOroute is pretty much on track here, although LT is a top 3 RB. As much as I like Turner, I can't see him ahead of Tiki or a healthy Portis. Probably not Brown, SJax, etc. Top 12 is possible. Certainly start worthy if LT got injured, but not top 5.ETA: I have seen Turner in the last couple seasons, I haven't seen him play this pre-season, but frankly, if I had, I wouldn't put weight on it.
