Thought it would be worth mentioning that there is a growing likelihood that he may have two rookies covering his blindside this year.

RG Davin Joseph appears to be pushing "incumbent" Jeb Terry for the starting job. (I say incumbent with quotes because it was Mahan's job last year, but he's a center and took it over because Terry was hurt. He has only been practicing at Center this TC).

RT Jeremy Trueblood will start friday against the Jets, and with a strong showing, may have a real shot at unseating incumbent Kenyatta Walker. While Trueblood is seen as the future at RT for the Bucs, 'Yatta admittedly impressed and outperformed expectations last year (which weren't very high). He's been hurt a bit though...

There also may be a new starting Center if Mahan beats out Wade (entirely possible, although I have heard no such news).

In all, how do you guys feel about a pair of rookie potentially guarding his blindside, and how will this, if at all, affect your projections for him as a QB heading into this year?

The biggest question mark heading into camp is that RT position, and while there is very solid depth along the OL this year, the question is who will start? There have even been whispers that Terry may move to RT and Joseph starting at RG....

Well it's too late for me to project him in an upcoming drafts as I finished all of mine already, but as a Bucs fan and a Simms owner I really don't feel safe with rookies protecting his blinde side. At the same time I do like Joseph and Youngblood, but they better get a lot of reps in the preseason before I sleep easier at night.

the line returns all 5 starters. If any changes are made it's because the new guys play/practice better than the old guys.

So, if two rookies are protecting his blindside then the line by default will be better than last year because the new guys will be better than last year's starters.

The line wasn't exactly stellar last year, and the YPC show just that.
The left side was great for Cadillac, but the right side was dismal.I suppose I agree with the assertion that any change in the line denotes an upgrade, however I worry with 'Yatta's injury and Mahan's moving to center that the changes may be the result not of competition but of defaulting.Personally, I see Joseph or Terry as a big upgrade at RG, but for RT, I think I'd rather see Kenyatta play RT this year and Trueblood play next year.

Taken a look at the Bucs pass schedule? 4 games vs Car/Atl...be lucky to avg 1 TD per game...has a lot of other pretty tough ones... I'm down on the Bucs at the moment.
