For those using DD with their contest teams (1 Viewer)

I'm at 3736 (using current default FBG projections)

QB - 910 (3)

RB - 778 (5)

WR - 1000 (6)

TE - 421 (3)

PK - 261 (2)

DT - 366 (3)

What ya got?

Total = 2610, and I'm very happy with my team. :)

ETA: Not sure what we're doing differently, but I just added the top 3 defenses (according to default FBG projections) to my team and my defense team strength is only 284, so I have no idea where you're getting 366 from. I imagine this accounts for the huge discrepancies in our scores.

ETA again: I just took the top guys at every position (which would obviously be way over budget), and the total team strength was 3926. How do you have DD configured?

The only thing I changed (other than aligning the scoring)...was to reflect starters based on the mix I opted for.QB - 3RB - 5WR - 6TE - 3PK - 2DT - 3

I think this could be an interesting thread, but before it gets out of hand we have to make sure we're on the same page. I just downloaded the latest projections and started a new league. In DD setup all I changed was the scoring system - everything else I left at the defaults. The following roster has a total team strength of 4037:

Brady

Romo

Brees

Tomlinson

Westbrook

Peterson

Jackson

Barber

Moss

Fitzgerald

Owens

Wayne

Edwards

AJohnson

Witten

Winslow

Gates

Folk

Vinatieri

Vikings

Chargers

Bears

And that team would cost about $700. The teams claiming to have a total strength of 3000+ points must have a different setup...?

Ah yes, that makes a huge difference. Why do this? You're not starting your entire roster every week...

I just double checked my scoring in DD...and it appears aligned with the contest (below)

Player Scoring (QB, RB, WR, TE)

Passing TDs = 6 points

Interceptions Thrown = -1 points

Rushing TD = 6 points

Receiving TD = 6 points

Passing Yardage = .05 points per yard

Rushing Yardage = .10 points per yard

Receiving Yardage = .10 points per yard

Receptions for RB = 0.5 points

Receptions for WR = 1.0 points

Receptions for TE = 1.5 points

No points scored for 2 point conversions

Kicker Scoring (PK)

Field Goal Made (0-29 yards) = 3 points

Field Goal Made (30-39 yards) = 4 points

Field Goal Made (40-49 yards) = 5 points

Field Goal Made (50+ yards) = 6 points

Extra Point Made = 1 point

Def/ST Scoring (Def/ST)

Sack = 1 point

Interception = 2 points

Fumble Recovery = 2 points

Safety = 2 points

Defensive/ST TD = 6 points (Kickoff return, punt return, blocked FG return, blocked punt return, interception return, fumble recovery return, etc. Note: ALL fumble recoveries and non-offensive TDs will count)

No, you start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 D, and 1 flex each week.

Why point out any strategy as well as call out people's mistakes in how they are dealing with scoring? The more people that don't understand the contest before the lock deadline, the better your odds of winning! :goodposting:

Haha, don't think I'm really giving anything away here. :lol:BTW, with one player change and updated projections, my total team strength is actually at 2691.

LMAO at inability to read rules....ETA: I took LT and the top 21 quarterbacks, so I'm at ~6600 points.

Wonder how this worked out.

Total team: 4008

Predicted Starters (including flex): 2265

I don't use DD for this number, I manage my contest picks in excel but I do check the team totals as an evaluation. I also used a lightly modified version of DD's projections that I generate through the PD. Tried a few different variants and my final submit had the highest number I could make.

One note that I'm still quite confused by though is that the DD was doing very weird things with the projected points yesterday. Dropping values 10-15 points on most, but not all players. Yes I had the scoring configured right (same as the PD), but the numbers were different (even after an export/import). The stats were the same in both files. I confirmed the calculations by hand and the PD final numbers were the right ones, so I just entered those into my file. Not very user friendly, since the PD isn't set up for viewing the final numbers as a list. I usually just use the VBD file, but I didn't see an easy way to import the PD mix I wanted to use.
