Every list ive seen this year has Moss around #7 Wr. People are sleeping on the leagues most talented WR who is also in the best postion for success. You cannot rank health as he is heathly right now (smith and owens and holt are not). He has the highest upside out of any player at the postion and should be playing with a chip on his shoulder all year. Who else has Moss #1?

Where did you have Randy BEFORE last night? :hophead: How's the importing/exporting biz going BTW?

As a longtime Vikings fan, you will be disappointed in your hope for Moss. Moss is no longer the player he was in his earlier years, and his QB play will be more inconsistent that he is. He gets off the line way slower, gets injured way easier, and takes a long time to heal. Unfortunately, the only thing that hasn't come with age for Moss is a better attitude. He's still a baby who quits or mouths off when things don't go his way. He just went WR13 in my league, and that felt about right.

I WAS a big Moss fan before he was traded to OAK and I had him in 1 dynasty league(traded him last night at the draft for Holt). Everyone say Culpepper is nothing without Moss, I say Moss is nothing without Culpepper. Chambers will score more FF points than Moss.

Moss is still one of the fastest wr's in the league , hes uses deceptivly fast strides. He blew by the coner yesterday and had to wait for the ball. he could have ran under that ball in the endzone. Ive had him number 1 all year and traded Dillon and Hasslebeck for him before the draft. You sound like a bitter Vikings fan who misses having Moss or any compentant WR for that matter. He is still the best jump ball reciver in te league and makes adusments in the air like no other. I could see him with tearing up overated coners like Ty Law all year.

but all he wants to do is go deep. I will take these WRs over MossCJHoltHarrisonS. SmithTO

:pics: So noted. But let's revisit this when Moss tweeks a groin in week 4, slowly heals for 10 weeks, badmouths his QB, and gets picked up for driving over another traffic cop. Trust me, if you draft Moss for your WR1, he will bitterly disappoint you.

How do you know what Moss wants to do? Ever think that maybe sending Moss deep is just a smart thing to do as a coach and OC. When Moss runs deep at least 2 guys go with him. If not, what you saw last night is the price they pay.

:lmao: Yeah all those other guys with Groin and Hammy injuries are healing so fast.

you will regret it. Holt is playing in a new offense for the first time in his carrer. Harrison is ancient and has been surpassed on his own team. Smith is a very dangerous player but should see a few less redzone looks tihs year. TO is a cancer and cannot be trusted. CJ is the only player you can justify over Moss but at this point looks to have a lesser upside as he is not their #1 option in the redzone more like #3 behind rudi and Housh. Its false that Moss always wants to go deep it's just what hes best at so it's stupid not to utlize that ability. He runs alot of comeback as most coners give him a 10 yd cushion in respect

I say Moss is nothing without Culpepper.
This has been proven false several times already. It's a shame you still can't see that.
last year without Culpepper1005 teard 8 TDI know he was hurt but so was Culpepper.
OK so you know he was hurt and acknowledge that is a major factor. Why not look at seasons when he wasn't. There are plenty of them.
lets see. The last season he was healthy 2003

On a per game basis when HEALTHY and MOTIVATED Randy is the best WR in fantasy football. He catches long TDs. Often. But his health is now a question mark at this point in his career, especially with prior question marks about his lack of stretching, etc. Add to that the overall questions and doubts about the Raiders and it drops Moss in the preseason standings among the elite WRs.But again on a per game basis if he can keep his health and motivation and if the Raider OLine can give Brooks/Walter time, Moss is still a beast and will put up some crazy points.High risk, high reward.

1998 without Culpepper = 1300 yards and 17 TDs1999 without Culpepper = 1400 yards and 11 TDs
Not too mention some of his most pro-ductive games came with Todd Bouman under center when culpepper was hurt

i'll admit to being a sucker for Moss. would you also rate him #1 in a PPR league? I took Smith & CJ, but had Moss 3rd.
Receptions for aplayer like Moss are hard to gauge at this point. A new QB, new coach, uncertain #2 across from him. If all are healthy CJ will probaly finish with the most catches of the 3, with Smith I think the lack of a consitent running game and 2nd wr across from ihm probaly gave him10 catches more then this year. I could see CJ with 105, Smith with about 95 and Moss with 90 the difference is in td's where Moss should have 5 more then either counter part

Moss was everything with Randall Cunningham before there was a Culpepper

Moreover, Moss w/o CPep last year before injury:117 yds and 0.5 TDs per gameCPep w/o Moss last year before injury:223 yds, 0.85 TDs, 1.7 Ints per game

I have Fitz and Moss my #1 & #2 WRs in a dynasty league after I traded my first rounder for Fitz this year.

I'm liking my chances if Randy can stay healthy.

He is almost a forgotten man after his subpar, injury riddled season. NEvertheless, as a long time Bears season ticket holder, there isn't a receiver in the game who can hold a candle to a 100% Moss. Culpepper has some talent, no doubt, but having Moss as a fallback made him famous. We will see what Daunte is made of over the next two seasons.

In two drafts that I have been involved in this year, Moss has ended up as WR2 both times. Last weekend he was the 34th pick (3rd rd / pick 6 / 14 team league as 9th WR taken) and today he ended up being 25th pick (3rd rd / pick 5 / 10 team league as 9th WR taken). He has been paired with Chad Johnson and Steve Smith, in those drafts respectively. I am in Louisiana so I believe part of it has to do with lack of respect for Aaron Brooks but part of the disrespect is probably just "Randy-negativity".

After last night, as owners read two touchdowns in the box score, I am sure that he will rise in ADP. However, I believe that there have been and will still be opportunities to get him at a discount. I believe that he may represent great value this year.

I ended up with him today and am looking forward to starting S. Smith and R. Moss each week.

This is where hate gets people in FF. They will justify every thing they can possibly think of to dismiss a player of Moss' ability and then after the draft look up and see a Smith/Moss tandam at WR and probably poo themselves wondering how it happened.
