Brandon Jacobs was a nice selection Rad..........so was Moats EBF.
Tommy could have had them both, I was surprised he chose to simply ignore them.
The Shark Pool just swooped in for the kill on that one.
Yeah, those guys are gonna see tons of PT - playing beind two of the leading RB's last year. Just the kind of guys I want on my team. Nice job SP
So basically handcuffing veteran running backs to rookie Rb's is a bad idea late in the draft?
I don't think either are bad picks, but I don't feel like they were stolen from me. Do we even know that Jacobs would get the job if Tiki went down? Not dropping names, but I think Cloud would factor strongly into the Giants backfield sans Barber. That's why Jacobs wasn't/isn't on my radar.I'll confess to knowing little to nothing about Moats. I know Buck is hurting, and I remember Mehe was hyped last year or the year before on these boards. Too much is up in the air for me to roll the dice on Moats. If someone knows something I don't about Moats having the inside track on the #2 job, that's a helluva pick.
forget about the backup job, jacobs is pushing for time as part of a thunder/lightning attack. barber has said he think jacobs is going to help him extend his career. moats has been described as everything from a "piece of gristle" to a "stick of dynamite". im not saying he looks even close to as good as barry sanders, but he has almost the exact same build and running style - low, tough, great cuts and vision, and good acceleration once he gets to the edge. i see big things in his future, and think he can put up westbrook's numbers if westbrook gets hurt. i dont know if he will get the carries in cbuck's absence - childress has said moats does provide a differnt look than westy, but theres also scuttlebutt that theyre looking at guys like gordon, morris, levens, and hambrick to fill buck's role. either way, moats should at least get a few touches a game to show what he's got and if he continues to flash what he has shown so far, that number will quickly increase.
