On Leinart’s strengths as a passer: “He’s very good at understanding the importance of, OK, if the first read’s not there, checking it down to the backs. He understands the positive things that can happen with a good play fake, stuff he did at ‘SC, we do here, and he’s really very good at ball-handling from that standpoint. He’s played a lot of high level competition games at USC and had a lot of pressure on him and understands that you team is driven by your quarterback play. I’m very excited for him because I think he’ll rise to the occasion.”
