Frank Gore owners who you got - Hunter or Dixon (1 Viewer)

I drafted Frank Gore in the 3rd and looking to handcuff him with either Dixon or Hunter. Based on preseason play Hunter has looked legit, leading the league in rushing yards with 231 yards (6.6 YPC) but no announcement has been given about him moving up the depth chart. Do you think the handcuff target here is Hunter or Dixon?

Guessing a true RBBC, w/ Dixon getting short yardage & GL as opined above. Haven't paid attention to Hunter's blocking....

Hunter has more upside, obviously, but although he did have one awesome block in a preseason game where he flipped a blitzing pash rusher end-over-end, I remember reading a Maiocco report a couple weeks ago that Hunter was getting "overwhelmed" in pass blocking during practices due to his size. The word out of training camp on Dixon has consistently been "plodding," "slow to the hole," "dances too much behind the LOS."

So, probably Hunter. Even if Dixon gets something like a 70/30 split, I'm not convinced the 70% touches for Dixon will be fantasy worthy.

This is how I see things shaking out when Gore goes down at some point this year. Yes, I'd be stunned if FG didn't miss at least a few games with some sort of injury. The guy is 29 years old, had a few major surgeries (I believe two ACL tears), and has had a ton of touches the past few years. IMO, he's the RB that I want no part of on any of my FF teams. He's a big injury risk and doesn't represent value in any of the drafts I have seen.

I'm thinking it will be rbbc, hunter gets the yards, dixon gets the TDs (if we actually get down there). So I'd go with Andy Lee for the most PT.

According to CSN Bay Area's Matt Maiocco, rookie Kendall Hunter "appears to have won" the 49ers' No. 2 tailback job behind Frank Gore."He's definitely playing well enough to be the No. 2 back," coach Jim Harbaugh confirmed after Thursday's preseason finale. Anthony Dixon has held his own with powerful running and two touchdowns in the finale, but Hunter's big-play ability adds a new dimension to the Niners' offense.

I have both - at least to start the season - will see if one needs to be dropped or whether I have to keep them both .....or [wince] if the QB play is so bad it won't matter

According to Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area, rookie Kendall Hunter appears to have won the 49ers' No.2 running back job behind Frank Gore.

"He's definitely playing well enough to be the No. 2 back," coach Jim Harbaugh confirmed after Thursday's preseason finale. Anthony Dixon has held his own with powerful running and two touchdowns in the finale, but Hunter's big-play ability adds a new dimension to the Niners' offense.

Hunter lead the entire NFL in rushing yards this preseason. He could be a significant factor in the Niners' offense considering how brittle Frank Gore has been.
