Fred Jackson Outlook (1 Viewer)

Anyone with RB injuries thinking about him long term?

He's always been productive and BUF has always been bad. They're no worse this year than most years and Fitzpatrick/Johnson/Evans/Spiller are nice pieces around him.

i own him and need him as injuries are wreaking havoc on my other RB`s...i think with a renewed passing game he may do fairly well...i just wish they would start throwing the ball to him on screens and such

@ BAL

Jackson: 23 carries, 2 reception (2 targets)

Spiller: 7 carries, 3 KRs

They could involve both guys more in the passing game but Fitzpatrick likes the long ball. Didn't Fred Jackson set some yardage, maybe yards from scrimmage record last year?

I'd only worry about him losing more & more touches going forward as they keep losing; gotta believe Spiller will be more involved by the end of the season? All I know is FJax is now in my lineup, Ryan Mathews is getting kicked to the curb (not cutting him, but to the bench)

I dont know...after the preseason they were supposed to rely on Spiller and he did nothing and then after the trade everyone thought "ok now it's Spiller time!!" and so far nothing. I'm a big proponent of watching and listening to coaches and not trying to let my bias impact my judgement....Show me the money!!...I avoided Charles and Felix jones among others due to the coaches and how they were using them. I'm a huge fan of the talent like I am Spiller but at the end of the day it's the coach that's going to give them the ball. To me there's nothing that I've heard or read that would indicate they plan on involving Spiller more or give him a bigger piece of the pie. I think it's Freddie time for the forseeable future and he's got a tough schedule but he is getting touches. I could see him being around an RB20 from here on out.

upcoming games are against Chiefs, Bears, Lions..sounds like a strong 3-week stint for Jackson.

Chiefs defense is a tough haul, but they're as good as the Ravens so I think Jackson will do well against them..

he should have good games against the Bears and the Lions...

at this point you get the feeling that Jackson and the Bills can have some rushing success against anyone, he seems destined to be a solid 70-80 rush yards/gm type of RB, with the odd 100+ yard effort..

as Buffalo's offense continues to improve, look for Jackson's stats to get better by the week!

Spiller had a big fumble last week on a kickoff when the Bills were up by 11 points. He may not exactly be in good graces right now.

I really like Fred Jackson as a 2nd half breakout candidate. Buffalo's offense looks legit, and some of the passing TDs (4 last week) will give way to rushing TDs just by law of averages.

I'm actually still not completely sold on KC, so I have some measured optimism for Fred as early as this week.

I'm pretty sold on KC's D but I was sold on BAL's too. BUF is moving the ball - no doubt about that - and if Fred keeps getting 25 touches a game, he should indeed be very productive. And like you said, the TDs will come.

Through 6 games, KC has allowed opposing RBs 41 recep for 336 yds & 1 TD (they're allowing not quite 87 YPG rushing).... I really wish Fitz was dumping off to FJax more; he could do some damage this week by catching the rock.

I think Spiller has just as good a chance to get catches if they do pass to the backs. Maybe this is the week Spiller breaks a big one as a receiver.

You shouldn't be sold on the Baltimore D. They suck this year. I think the Bills are given too much credit on offense right now based on the Baltimore game. The Baltimore D is struggling badly against everyone lately and the Bills offense still isn't very good.

Spiller at some point will become the feature back in Buffalo this year. I have a feeling though that an injury to Jackson is what will open the door for Spiller and once opened there will be no looking back.Jackson is better as complementary back. Last year he started off really solid when Lynch was out but his numbers(YPC) faded as the season worn on except for the last game of the year against the Colts backups. He is an aging back who is solid but not flashy. At some point they have to push Spiller more though if for nothing else but to see what they got.
