Fred Jackson (1 Viewer)

After his performance this week, I'm not really interested in trade bait. He's one hell of a third RB in a 10 team league, and I've now moved him into the same category as Stafford, Megatron, and Rice: untouchable.
Remarkable performance yet again. More highlight reel moments in tough, clutch spots. In a real-life re-draft of NFL GMs, he'd be way up there. Just remarkable...PS I dont own him and never have. I totally whiffed on any chance to get him

Despite his age i wonder if the lack of use/abuse in prior years mean he is at his prime and has a few good years ahead.

Didnt realize he was such a nice receiver!

you guys think he's worth a 1st round rookie pick in a dynasty league? I'm the defending champion but i'm getting my ### kicked by injuries this year. I'm going to be 3-0 but i have no depth...and my backs are Hillis Bradshaw and I fill in with Helu, Woodhead, Ryan Grant, Michael Bush...last year I got by because Torain and Bush had so much value.

thoughts?

thing is, i know he's mine if i give up that 1...just knowing it's going to be a really strong draft and he's so old I hate trading away a 1st rounder for an old back.

Don't see how Jackson's a dynasty sell if you've got a competitive team. No one's going to give you an equivalent young talent and, especially in start 24 or start 28 RB leagues, he's someone who could be a key piece this year.

If you're out of contention (which is unlikely at this point) then yes, sell.

Thanks to this being on of NFL Network's games of the week, I had a chance to watch this week's game. The thing that impresses me about the Bills as it relates to Fred Jackson is that regardless of whether they are up or down, they find a way to get him involved. Even though he doesn't typically catch a lot of passes, they moved him into a pass catching role after the lead was built by New England...and given how well he played in that role, I think he could be in line for more receptions going forward.

To be honest, I haven't watched much of Jackson over the past few years and kind of assumed that his stats were just as a result of being a decent player without a ton of weapons (although that is definitely changing this year). After watching the way he ran though, my opinion of him has completely changed. Every touch he gets is dynamic. Even when he is stopped for a loss or only picks up a yard, he fights for an extra inch or two to turn it into something more than it should have been. His style is reminds me of watching Stephen Davis during the Carolina Super Bowl season, when he wanted to prove that he still had something left in the tank.

I'm thrilled to have drafted this guy as my #4, and even more thrilled to start him weekly as my #2.

I read one of his tweets in reply to a compliment from Marshall Faulk. Apparently he has tried to model his game after #28.

Lots of backs would love to be Faulk but 3 weeks in he is doing a nice impression at least.

Couldn't agree more with you; I also saw the game on replay and I think it's pretty apparent that Spiller isn't much of a danger towards Jackson's playing time. Considering the nature of Buffalo's schedule, especially seeing as they play in the AFC East, almost every one of their games will go down to the wire and the coaching staff will want the playmaking abilities of Jackson on the field as much as possible. You couldn't ask for a better fantasy situation; Jackson will win championships this year.I noticed the "CJ vs. Jackson" thread, and while I admit that a week ago I would accept a CJ for Jackson trade, it's becoming more obvious that the better choice is the proven talent this season. CJ may have the contact, but Jackson has the yardage. Only one of those variables wins you fantasy matchups.

He is my #2, but only because I have McCoy in front of him. I drafted Best and Felix ahead of him, but he has quickly passed both of those guys.

Holding - actually traded away Chris Johnson for Aaron Rodgers (more to the trade, but they were the big names), so he's a permanent fixture on my team now, while the higher profile but lesser producing guy went.

I would expect the Bills to give Spiller the first crack at it but whether or not he'd be able to keep the job is the real question.
