I don't get the whole Barber/MJD comparison. Just because they are both part timers that are becoming full timers I don't think that makes them comparable. They are entirely different backs. MJD is a significantly better player and the offense is built around him, which is far from the case in Dallas.

If anything a more accurate comparison for MJD may be Tiki Barber. Frankly that is the kind of production I'm expecting and MJD may be more talented than Tiki was.

In any league MJD is my #1 pick. I think many people will be riding to champiuonships this year and for years to come.

As for Fred Taylor, I can see him latching on as a change of pace back for a contender, maybe Indy, maybe NE or maybe even Philly. I still think he's got 1 more solid season left in him.

I can see MJD staying about the same (which isn't bad obviously) or a slight decline (3-4 spots) I still am not sure if I should keep him or Ronnie Brown.

I'm a MIA homer and Brown owner but MJD >>>> Brown at this point FF-wise.

hmmm let's see....MJD will turn 24 this season, while Brown will be turning 28.

MJD has scored 622.1 fantasy pts. (non-PPR) in 3 seasons, while Ronnie Brown has 608.1 in 4 seasons.

MJD has never missed a game due to injury (although he and Fred Taylor were held out of a meaningless week 17 game in '07 to rest them for the playoffs), while Ronnie Brown has already missed 11 games due to injury in his career.

MJD has finished top 10 in fantasy scoring by a RB in two out of three seasons (and top 10 in all three seasons if you are in a PPR league), while Ronnie Brown has yet to sniff RB1 production, and 2008 was the very 1st time Ronnie has finished inside the top 20.

Doesn't seem like much of a dilemma to me

608 to 622 pts & that's a huge point? Seriously?No one can predict injury. MJD could get hurt game 1 next season for all we know.

MJD has scored more pts in 3 seasons than Brown has in 4. Is that not significant when trying to compare them? I thought it was.

OK. I've got an idea to make it fair why don't I compare Ronnie's first 3 seasons to MJD's.

Ronnie = 431.1 fantasy pts. (Non-PPR)

MJD = 622.1 fantasy pts. (Non-PPR)

Does that make it clearer?

the comparison isnt the style of back, its just the fact that they were both good backs in RRBC offenses, just because they lose the second half of the RBBC doesnt mean they are going to just blow up. Look at all the posts about MB when Jones was released. Everyone was projecting crazy numbers. If MJD was that good he wouldve gotten all the carries this year. He is def good, dont get me wrong, but to take him first in a non-PPR is just silly. Anyways, MJD got most of his touchdowns because Jax's passing game was so bad they didnt have any other way to get it in. And watch his games, he got most of his catches in the fourth quarter when the def dropped back and then dumped it off to him. If they can ever get decent recievers he loses a huge chunk of his catches. But I guess only time will tell, but you might be on your own taking MJD over Peterson in a non-PPR. Even in a PPR its still a bad decision in my opinion.

I agree with your caution about taking MJD #1 overall, but he's one of the safest options available in the first round. The problem is that you may have to take him in the top 3 to even have a chance of landing him.On the other hand, I wouldn't be so concerned about his TD production and receiving ability. His prowess in those areas go well beyond last season. He is a proven TD machine for 3 yrs. running now, as well as a strong receiving option out of the backfield, so it's tough to buy into an argument that those won't continue to be strengths for MJD going forward.

The Providence Journal reports that the Patriots and Bills have emerged as the "top landing spots" for free agent Fred Taylor.

New England could view Taylor as a Corey Dillon-type addition who could battle Sammy Morris and Laurence Maroney for early-down carries. Buffalo is concerned with Marshawn Lynch's availability for next season following his arrest on three gun charges. It's worth noting that Bills head coach **** Jauron was on the Jaguars' staff when Taylor was drafted in 1998.
