Fred taylor.. (1 Viewer)

He is playing for a new contract, take that for what it is worth. This is probably the best we will ever see Fred Taylor play, although I wouldn't be pissed if the Bears toss him some dough...

Taylor signed a new contract before the season started and is signed through 2010. I suppose he could get released, as he has a base salary of $4 million in 2008.

The way he's played this year, he's worth $5 mil for 2008. He'll get that much next year from the Jags or elsewhere.

I don't think he wants to go elsewhere nor the Jags want him to.

Hard to say about Fred. The Jags are in great shape with Fred and MJD, and if the Jags could keep things the way they are I imagine they would. However, I would also imagine that if they had to let one of them go it would be Taylor due to MJD's multifaceted success and long term value. I'm honestly not sure what their contract staus is so I can't really say what I think will happen. If someone has that info I'd appreciate it. Bottom line: if contracts dictate/indicate/suggest that one of them stays and one gos, I would think it's fairly certain that Taylor goes and MJD stays in JAX. They definitely wouldn't want to lose MJD at this point in his career, and if he starts talking about $$, a new contract, and more carries he may very well get his wish.

Taylors value would be dependant on where he goes, although I think it would have to take a hit as the situation in JAX is absolutely perfect for him right now.
