Fred Taylor's value (1 Viewer)

This is probably a make or break week for Freddy T. If he doesn't have a good game versus the Jets, then not too many people will want him with the emergence of Jones-Drew (eventhough he doesn't steal too many carries). Anyone looking to trade him after this week? What are your expected returns? I'm hoping to get a WR2 like Housh or AJ but I'm unsure of what the market is like for Taylor right now and what it will be if he has a good game versus the Jets.

FWIW, I can see an argument for keeping Fred Taylor the rest of the year also, as he could be undervalued with a remaining schedule including Houston twice, Tennessee twice, Buffalo, and Indy after the Jets.

This week definitely has huge impact on his trade value. Another Drew game with a long run and Fred with 7 carries for 15 yards and you'll never get rid of him. He's just damned frustrating.

You're not going to get AJ or Housh for him unless the other owner has an unnatural mancrush on either Taylor or you. The best way to get rid of Taylor after this week is probably to package him with a superior WR if you have depth at the position and try to trade him to a team that has RB depth and is willing to part with some of it to improve at WR. Taylor at least provides that owner a backup plan should one of his RBs sustain an injury after he parts with his depth.Given your desire to add AJ or Housh, though, I'm going to guess you lack that depth and say your best bet might be to go after a guy who has put up some numbers but has not yet gained the trust/respect of his owner. Is the Cotchery owner going to be frantically shopping him this week if he underachieves against a good Jacksonville defense? I'd consider looking for that type of situation.

FT's trade value right now is similar to Randy Moss. Those owners who were not already gun-shy due to his injury history (whether fair or not) are now gun-shy because of that one big game from Jones-Drew. Another dud game last week, and you cannot get good value for him at all.

I'm pretty much in the same boat, have F. Taylor as RB3 and have lacked productiong from any of the WR spots (Boldin, D. Mason, R. Smith, M. Jenkins, and just picked up T. Williamson and Furrey this week).

Trying to package a deal of R. Smith/Taylor for Driver (the other owner is weak at RB and has some decent depth at WR. He rejected.

I was then offered Muhammad for Taylor, thought about it but decided to give Taylor another week.

START 3 rb and 3 wr league. I'm short on RB's and considering trading my wr4 (Ward) for Taylor. I'm holding out for a bit more but givin the hammy issue with Ward it is prob fair value both ways with their own risks.

With his cake schedule (and having back to back bad weeks), I'm leaning towards being a buyer. I just proposed

a deal to another owner to get him.

Hopefully I'm right on my thinking.

Any other thoughts about Talyor?

I was looking at some RBs for the stretch run and his schedule is real nice. He had a nice game this past week against the Jets, but I did notice that Drew had a good game (2 TDs).

Where does his value stand, I'm thinking of offering Jordan and Kennison for him, too much? Not enough? Who knows

Well I got what I hoped out of Fred T versus the Jets. Although, I wish he would have got more TDs than Drew. I shipped Fred T out for Berrian this week. Eventhough he has a nice schedule, I don't like the RBBC that's forming. Drew is getting more and more involved in the red zone now which I did not expect.

I got turned down in my bid for Taylor, so I traded for Drew this week. He is getting more involved which I like.

I just traded K. Jones/Bengals D for F. Taylor/Browns D. People in the league didn't like the trade for me, but, I don't think KJ is gonna do much from here on out. We'll see I guess.

While I love MJD, there's just not a big reason to start him.

Things are working. They are winning more or less. The run game has been good. There's no pressing need to bench your vet RB for a rookie. At best it turns into a Deuce/Bush deal. But Deuce is still starting.

If you look at it from the HCs perspective, why make a change? Use Taylor, use MJD, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Why risk the fact MJD might not be able to stay healthy with 15+ carries. Why even go there if you don't have to? Things are working, Taylor is doing well, MJD is a spark/explosiveness type guy, why the hell would you bench Taylor?

Unless the Jags start losing, I don't see a big change coming.

EDIT: Same goes for the Colts. Unless they start losing, why start Addai? The 2 headed monster is more or less working. Rhodes has been decent. Addai has been decent, with a few rookie mistakes mixed in. Why change?

Teams bench vets when they're losing, not winning (ala lienart). If the Cowboys were 5-0, would we hear all this Romo talk? Regardless of how Drew played, no way. You change when things are going down the ####ter. It's like baseball. Why change your lineup if you're on a winning streak? 1st place? Yankees dropped a-rod to 8th because they were not producing. Taylor/MJD are producing, quite well. I don't see why on earth the HC would mess with it.

I am trying to package Taylor with D. Driver for either Caddy/Bruce or T. Bell/Evans. I have MJD and Jennings, so I'm ready to move Taylor and Driver if I can. Not sure if either deal goes through, but I feel they're pretty reasonable offers.

I was a buyer. I traded TJ for Taylor. My rb situation was woeful and only 1 team could trade with me essentially. The man is still stacked at rb.

I have both Taylor and Drew. I drafted Taylor to be my flex player and have 2 other rbs in front of him. I am giving serious consideration to trading away one of my starting rbs and starting Taylor as my rb2 and Drew as my flex. Both are putting up good numbers, and the JAX schedule is very soft.

 Freddy is getting about 20 carries a game, Drew is picking up the rest. That's not RBBC, that's preserving your starter and keeping him healthy all season. I'm sure Jax is thrilled with what they are getting out of Drew, but Fred will remain the starter.

I agree with this. I'm buying / holding FTaylor all over the place. His December schedule is great - @Miami, Indy, @Tenn and NE in Weeks 13-16 - sounds like solid starter material.

Week 16 vs the Patriots is not a good play at all.

I traded

EDGE & RoyWilliams

for

Eli Manning, Fred Taylor and Randy Moss.

I have Favre at QB and was hurting there with his inconsistency.

I have Rudi as my #1Rb and Maroney or Taylor will be my #2. I have MJD as Fred's backup in case.

Moss just has some upside and not really breaking my lineup. I have Holt/DJax/Reggie Williams/B.Johnson(AZ) We start 2 or 3 as a flex.

I like Jax schedule and the combo of Fred & MJD. What do you guys think of that trade for Fred & the others?

I think this is a fair trade. Eli fills your need in exchange for Roy and Fred isn't a terrible downgrade from Edge. Moss is a question mark, but adds value in your favor.
