Ok, lets get this weeks thread rolling.

Rudi Johnson, RB CIN

News: According to the Cincinnati Bengals official web site, RB Rudi Johnson dressed for practice Friday morning for the first time since injuring his hamstring 19 days ago in Seattle and went through some early drills.

Analysis: This is great news for owners of Johnson, but he is still likely to be very questionable for Sunday's Week 6 game at Kansas City. Make sure to check our inactives page on Sunday morning to see if Johnson is on the 45-man roster for the game before inserting him into your lineup.

Titans | B. Jones misses practice Friday

Fri, 12 Oct 2007 12:03:54 -0700

The Associated Press reports Tennessee Titans WR Brandon Jones (knee) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 12. Head coach Jeff Fisher said he is a game-time decision. Jones has not practiced this week.

LaMont Jordan (back) was present for the media portion of practice Friday.

Whether or not he practiced fully, we won't know Jordan's status for sure until about an hour before kickoff Sunday afternoon. Explore other options.

GTD

49ers coach Mike Nolan labeled Alex Smith (shoulder) "questionable" for Week 7 in his press conference Wednesday.

Smith threw 30-yard passes in practice and at one point motioned for Vernon Davis to go deep. It's an excellent sign that Smith can throw vertically again, and that Davis is running. The 49ers should come off their bye with Davis (knee sprain) and Smith healthy, and ready for a big second half push.

Jamal Lewis (foot) will be a game-time decision in Week 6.

Lewis missed practice in its entirety for the second straight day Thursday, and his owners shouldn't be counting on him to play. Miami looked improved against the run against Houston in Week 5, but still ranks second to last in the NFL. Jason Wright owners can pencil him into their lineups for now.

Anquan Boldin (hip) estimates he's at about "80 percent," but says that may not be enough to get him onto the field against Carolina.

Boldin seems very serious about making sure his injury doesn't jeopardize his status for the stretch run. He hasn't practiced at all this week yet, and shouldn't be counted on by fantasy owners to face the Panthers.

Doubtful, IMO

L.J. Smith (groin) practiced without restrictions again on Thursday.

Smith looks ready to start against the Jets, but may continue to lose snaps to rookie Brent Celek and Matt Schobel. He's not a very good fantasy start.

Brian Westbrook (abdomen) practiced without limits again Thursday.

Westbrook says he's not 100 percent but will start against the Jets, who are allowing four YPC to opposing ball carriers and have yielded six rushing TDs.

Alge Crumpler (knee/ankle) returned to a limited practice Thursday.

Crumpler is getting less work this week because the Falcons play Monday night. He missed all of practice Wednesday, but should start vs. the Giants.

Plaxico Burress (ankle) sat out practice Thursday.

Burress remains on track to start Monday night at Atlanta.

Fred Taylor (groin) was a limited participant at practice Thursday.

Any sort of injury is a concern for Fragile Fred, but we'll have to see what the Jags' local papers have to say about this on Friday. Maurice Jones-Drew would be a must start against Houston if Taylor sits the game out.

I bet he plays

if anyone cares:

Jaguars K Josh Scobee (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Week 6.

John Carney will start again. Scobee may be headed for injured reserve.

The Newark Star-Ledger doesn't list Laveranues Coles (knee) among the Jets' injured players in Friday morning's newspaper.

Despite Coles being listed as "limited" all week, he'll play Sunday.

Despite missing practice Thursday due to soreness in his knee, Vernand Morency is expected to play in Week 6 against Washington.

It sounds like he'll be listed as probable and Brandon Jackson will likely be inactive. The Packers' committee will mostly consist of Morency and DeShawn Wynn, with the latter a better fantasy play as Green Bay's likely starter and goal-line back. Wynn is a usable flex option in all leagues.

k, someone else can do Panthers through Vikings

Redskins week: Friday practice report

By Greg A. Bedard

Friday, Oct 12 2007, 02:54 PM

Green Bay - Here is what went on Friday, including another possible change on the offensive line:

*

Right guard Junius Coston, after being limited with an ankle injury on Thursday, did not practice and is listed as questionable. The backup at right guard, Jason Spitz, is already starting at center for injured Scott Wells (eye). That leaves Tony Moll, who was inactive for the first three games and has yet to play this season, as the possible starter at right guard against the Redskins;

*

Here's Mike McCarthy on Coston: "Juice turned his ankle, has an ankle sprain, in our goal-line work yesterday at the end of practice. I thought he may be able to go today. They feel the extra day of treatment would help him. We may work him out as early as tomorrow, or prior to the game. He'll be a gameday decision."

*

McCarthy on the line situation: "That's a challenge, it's a challenge a number of teams go through week in and week out, and we don't view it any differently. Jason Spitz has played a lot of football for us in a short time, I know it hasn't been at center. And no different than Tony Moll. Tony Moll was a starter at this time last year. So we expect them to go in and play at a high level. We're not going to change anything we're doing as far as our approach to the game. It's a product of how you rep your linemen during the course of training camp and so forth. When you're the sixth, seventh, eighth lineman on the football team, you have to play multiple positions, and it prepares you for these situations."

*

On backup center: "Juice is the backup center, and we worked a couple guys today. Daryn Colledge has some limited experience there. Mark Tauscher has been an emergency center for us in the past, so those two guys worked a little bit today."

*

Chad Clifton, Bubba Franks, Al Harris, Charles Woodson, Greg Jennings and Vernand Morency all practiced fully after missing some practice time this week. All are probable for the game.

Titans | B. Jones misses practice FridayFri, 12 Oct 2007 12:03:54 -0700The Associated Press reports Tennessee Titans WR Brandon Jones (knee) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 12. Head coach Jeff Fisher said he is a game-time decision. Jones has not practiced this week.
And just like that BJones is back on the WW.

Ravens | Mason practices Friday

Fri, 12 Oct 2007 13:16:51 -0700

Jamison Hensley, of The Baltimore Sun, reports Baltimore Ravens WR Derrick Mason (illness) participated in practice Friday, Oct. 12. Mason is expected to play during Week 6.

as per rotoworld

Jamal Lewis missed his third consecutive practice Friday. He is officially listed as questionable with a foot injury.

The Browns call Lewis a game-time decision, but it'd be a big surprise if he's active. Lewis was in a boot Monday and his sprained foot caused him to miss workouts all week. Consider Jason Wright likely to start and see the vast majority of the carries against Miami. The Browns haven't shown enough faith in Jerome Harrison for owners to rely on him to make any impact. Oct. 12 - 3:56 pm et

Just double-checked your Rudi Johnson report and it sounds somewhat less positive on Rotoworld:

Rudi Johnson (probable, hamstring) returned to practice Friday, but the Cincinnati Enquirer reports he'll likely alternate with Kenny Watson in Week 6. Coach Marvin Lewis says there's still a chance Rudi may sit out.

Rudi will probably get goal-line carries and is worth keeping in lineups against Kansas City as a flex. You should be able to do better at an RB2 spot. Watson would be a low-end flex play in points-per-reception leagues. It's possible the Bengals will continue to divvy up carries between the two backs in an effort to get their sagging rush offense jumpstarted.

Falcons | Leftwich misses practice Friday

Fri, 12 Oct 2007 13:47:09 -0700

D. Orlando Ledbetter, of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reports Atlanta Falcons QB Byron Leftwich (ankle) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 12, because of an injured left ankle. He is questionable for Week 6.

I hope no one cares about this

Buccaneers | Hilliard practices Friday

Fri, 12 Oct 2007 13:55:22 -0700

Roy Cummings, of The Tampa Tribune, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Ike Hilliard (ankle) participated in practice Friday, Oct. 12. Hilliard is expected to play during Week 6.
