G-Men and Brownies - What are You watching for? (1 Viewer)

"Luck of the Irish" is still casting it's shadow on Quinn.

That was an Int. all the way, but turned into 6 for the Brownies.

How are the Giant RBs playing? Jacobs, Ward, Bradshaw.
Jacobs 7 carries for 24 yards (3.4) YPC with two really bad fumbles, one on a stupid decision to lateral. He was benched after the second one. The only thing Brandon did consistently was run his mouth, he was jawing at the Browns all night long....it should not be surprising the Giant's didn't renew his contract this offseason. On a positive note, Ward running and Bradshaw receiving has been very solid.

Sometime, not sure when, Quinn will be the starting QB for the Brownies (in the not-too-distant future). I have a hunch it could be around midseason this year (& not because of injury).

You have to realize how much pressure is on Anderson. And how much pressure the Browns will be under to go to Quinn if they start off slow. It may not be all Anderson's fault, but he could easily be the scapegoat. And once BQ gets in there, I don't believe he's coming out.

For once we agree. I've always thought Anderson was a fraud. I expect him to falter this season. Quinn should take this job and never look back.

I agree.Aside from what Anderson did last year, Quinn is still the toast of the town.In all aspects. Endorsements, etc.

Bradshaw goes over the top for the TD. Guy did everything on that drive, running, catching, blocking, and finished it off with a Walter Payton-esque dive over the top. Guy is phenomenal, as the Giants' SB trophy last year can attest.

We also agree on Trent Edwards so all is not lost. ;)

True story. Anderson the last 4 games of the season (when the pressure was on) was an awful QB. This year the expectations are high. I fully expect an implosion, despite Cleveland being the glamour pick in the media.

Quinn just looks like he's going to be a pretty good QB in the future. I don't know if he'll end up being the starter in Cleveland, I woundn't mind it, as a browns fan. But I believe he'll be a starter somewhere.

Am I missing something, or does it appear that Jacobs is the starter, Ward is the backup, and Bradshaw is 3rd on the depth chart?

Fellow Bradshaw owner? (I agree, he looks fantastic on that drive).

As a owner of all three backs last year, I'm a big fan of Ward. I wonder what it would take for him to steal the starting job away from Jacobs. I doubt a couple of fumbles will do the trick, as it seems they really want Jacobs in there if he is healthy.

This is correct. Ward gets no love on this board.

One more night like tonight may do just that. Jacobs got pulled after his stupid play, then Gilbride had to calm him down on the sidelines. He showed zero composure tonight, both on and off the field.

True story. Two of those games were in terrible conditions and would have hurt any QB.
Buffalo and Cleveland might both be cold weather teams, but even they couldn’t have expected this. Battling gusting wind and a constant snow that even seemed to come sideways sometimes, the Browns simply made more plays when it counted.
With heavy winds affecting the passing and kicking games, Cincinnati was saved by its rushing game and Kenny Watson.
The other two games he went 27-48 for 337 yards with 3 TDs and 2 INTs. I don't understand why people keep pointing to these games.

It's been so long since the Cardiac kids maybe they are to young to remember the cardiac kids. I remeber the cardiac kids, my favorite player as a kid was Brian Sipe.

I hope this game isn't a sign of what's to come, since last year was a big surprise.

I'm not that young, I recall the Browns of the entire 80s. I just didnt "read" anything into a username. Didnt pay any attention to it.
