Ok, scrubs in so game basically over. For what it's worth, my impressions:
AZ:
Oline is horrible and is the source of a lot of their problems. Doesn't really matter which QB is in when you only have 0.5 seconds to throw the ball or get flushed out of the pocket. Will be a really rough year for all AZ offensive players if they can't fix the oline.
Kolb - didn't play that well with 2 interceptions, but was actually 17/22. I actually think he makes pretty good decisions when he has time to pass in the pocket. Not as strong an arm as Skelton, but actually seems to go through progressions and targets the open receiver.
Skelton - will probably end up starting after Kolb's two picks, but wasn't that great himself. Stronger arm and makes bullet throws. However, (and I haven't watched Skelton that much, so take with a grain of salt), he seems to not go through his progressions and targets his first WR regardless of how crowded it is or well-covered the WR is. So, while he has a stronger arm and makes laser throws, he needs to work on decision making and go through progressions to find the open receiver (or, the oline just needs to give him more time)
Beanie/Williams - didn't do too much...once again the oline gave them no chance to really get anything going
William Powell - a RB to keep an eye on. 24 years old, undrafted in 2011 and was tearing it up in the 3rd/4th quarter. Elusive with yards after contact...very impressive, but I don't think he was playing against 1st stringers on defense so would need to see more from him against better competition before endorsing.
Fitz - beast as always, but when the oline gives Kolb/Skelton no time to throw he doesn't get targeted much (actually Kolb targeted him more because it seems that when Kolb had some time to throw he could actually find and target Fitz or progress down to get the ball to Fitz)
M. Floyd - targeted several times and make a couple good side-line catches. Had one potential TD catch in the corner of the endzone that he just missed. Overall pretty good, but probably could have been more aggressive on the fade pass in the endzone.
Tenn:
Locker - stats look good, but he doesn't really throw many passes longer than 10 yards. On the TD throws, one was Kendall Wright doing all the work by catching about 10 yards out, avoiding a tackle and running in. Right now I see him as a solid back-up QB, but doesn't look like he has elite upside due to inability/no desire to throw long passes to attack all areas of the field.
Kendall Wright - looked very good.....as mentioned previously had elusiveness and picked up yardage after the catch. Also had a 'my ball' attitude and actually (IMO) saved Locker from a pick earlier by turning back on a slightly underthrown pass and grabbing the ball from over the defender.
Cook - had one nice 35 yard catch on a bullet from Locker up the middle (probably Locker's most impressive throw). He could be really good if targeted more, but not sure that it will happen that much.
Chris Johnson - I don't think he did that well....two things worry me: 1) Because Locker hasn't gotten to the point of throwing longer passes and opening up the field the defense can compress more and make it harder for someone like CJ consistently pick up good yardage on runs. Everytime CJ was tackled it was by about 2-3 guys. The majority of CJ's runs were probably less than 2 yards and he had two decent 8-10 yard runs to bring his total up (13 rushes for 27 yards). 2) Because it seems like right now Locker is just getting to his first read and then running outside of the pocket if that person isn't open it seems like there just aren't many dump off passes to CJ. Also, for some reason it seems that Tenn isn't drawing up many pass plays to CJ (just one target to CJ tonight that I saw). The good thing is that Ringer didn't actually get much time tonight so it doesn't seem like Tenn is worried about CJ and thinking about benching him or RBBCing him like they did for a while last year.
