Game Thread -- Denver at Dallas (1 Viewer)

Just have to chime in (since I had to Tivo this game due to Thanksgiving dinner :hot: with the in laws and just finished it). What a great victory for Denver. I really thought with the short week, we were going to lay a stinker down there, but we found a way to win it.

Great game.  It pains me as a 'Boys fan to take the loss but I have to give DEN credit, they brought what I thought.  A good DEF and a good running game.  I still think DAL is going to the playoffs, and I think AFC teams just saw what they wanted to see to beat DEN.
I wouldn't want to be Billy Cundiff in that locker room right now.
No doubt he should have made the FG. But good teams find a way to win and we still had time. Give DEN credit and start preparing for the Giants. Still a lot of football left to decide the NFC. I stand by my Cowboys, even in today's defeat. :topcat:

Ron Dayne sighting!

Averaging 8 YPC!

Boot.

I think Shanahan has become a RBBC junkie this year.
His featured back is still averaging about 20 carries again, which projects to 320 carries over a full season, which projects to "featured back" status. It's just that Denver runs so much that the C.o.P. back gets a lot of touches, too.
Whats the deal with Mike Anderson? Why is he not getting the ball more. Footballguys had him ranked 9th in the cheet sheets. This is BS! :hot:
Denver struggles vs. the 3-4. Didn't you get the memo?
Please just fade into bolivian, Dayne. Your a bum. Always have been and always will be. If I hear about how your in the best shape of your life one more time, I'll :X . Quit you loser. It's over. Why can't everyone just accept it?
Did you see him in COLLEGE?! He gets infinity billion chances in the NFL because of this.
Sorry but we all know it's not even close to the same thing. No one gets an infinite amount of chances just because they were good in college. He's been given his chances time and time again. I'm just sick of hearing about him being in the best shape of his life every year and everyone buying into that crap. When will everyone learn?
I'm sure glad Denver didn't learn its lesson last offseason. That's twice he's come in pretty handy so far.
What's up with Plummer needing water after every play?

I've seen fish drink less often...
I could mention his 229 consecutive passes without an interception, and then make a "there must be something in the water" joke, but that would be amateurish, right?
If Ron Dayne goes out, does Jason Elam become the running back? We all know he would probably get 100 yards and a score as well, since he plays for Denver.
Nah, Elam hurt his calf muscle in warmups against the Jets. I think Sauerbrun is actually next in line.

Why didn't Mike Anderson do that today then? He had more carries then Dayne?

 I'm really too full to be eating popcorn, but that is a good question.

Who knows. Bad game by Anderson, good game by Dayne, Anderson's still tired after carrying 26 times just 4 days ago, Dayne's well rested since he hasn't recieved a carry in over a month and a half, lucky breaks in the blocking for Dayne.

My theory? A combination of all of the above.

A better question- how the hell did Philly limit Tomlinson to 7 yards on 17 carries?

Games like today are ones the Broncos always seemed to find a way to lose the last few years, so emerging with a win today was huge. I was on pins and needles the whole game, but they managed to pull it out in the most unlikely scenario possible...a long Ron Dayne run setting up the winning score. Who woulda thunk it? :)

I hate games like these, absolutely hate 'em--probably because, like you said, Denver tends to lose them. I'm just glad I'm not a Cowboy fan with all the close games they've been in this year.Dallas is a damn good team, but more than anything, I think this game shows how good a coach Parcells is. Dallas has a legit shot at going deep in the playoffs.

So, I was unable to see the game. Was Lelie playing today??? Did he get any targets???? I know he is good for at least 1 catch a game. Thank goodness I did not play him this week. And yes my WR'ing core is depleted and he is someone I consider every week, so I am wondering what happened this week???

He played. Was targeted deep once early, but can't remember any targets other than that. Denver had a hard time sustaining drives, so all of their offensive players suffered as a result. Rod Smith and Jeb Putzier were the primary beneficiaries of the passing attack, and even their numbers were far from stellar.
