Game could have been under wraps a lot sooner if they didn't decide to keep diving Jones into the ground. Haley likes to be considered a "motivational" coach. Well... he just ended Charles streak of 100 yard games for no good reason. Charles had a pathetically small handfull of carries and still only came 8 yards shy. It might not seem like a big deal.... but things like that are motivating factors for players. I am sure that Charles was hungry to keep that streak alive... just as Chris Johnson is.
Charles doesn't give a ####. He's very much a team player. Last year he took himself out of the game against Denver when he easily could have broke the NFL RECORD for yards in a game, saying after the game, "It's OK. I'll get it some other time."
Charles is a great team player....and the team would have played much greater if Charles would have gotten more touches. Thank god for Charles, Chiefs D, and Special Teams.... because the playcalling on offense was horrible. The coaching staff did their best to make this game much harder than it had to be.

I've watched Rivers and Brees with the same team. Rivers is the better QB IMO.
Except that Brees never had a stud WR when he was a Charger like Rivers has had in Vincent Jackson.
Uh, Vincent Jackson was a Charger when Brees was a Charger. And Jackson became a stud last year. Prior to '09, VJax averaged 33 catches per season.
Exactly. Jackson didn't become a stud until three years after Brees left. I am sure you aren't dumb enough to imply that Jackson being better with Rivers than he was with Brees means Rives was better, considering Brees only played with Jackson his rookie season, a season in which he started zero games and caught a grand total of three balls.

lack of touches for mathews??? and i think i wasted a 7th round pick on floyd :/...maybe it was the rain but san diegos offense looked off for the most part.

Man, that was the Arrowhead of old tonight! Except for 2003-05, I have not seen that place jumping like that in about a decade. We had sellouts most of the decade, but not with that kind of energy.

Rivers' behavior reminded me of Elway when he played here...always got pissed because of crowd noise

Not jumping to any conclusions, but this was probably one of KC's three toughest games this season, and the D, ST and running games looked GREAT! The rookies were awesome, but it was guys like Dorsey, Derrick Johnson, Carr and Hali that I was impressed with. The Chiefs STILL need OL help, as at least two of the guys are cruddy pass blockers.

One thought though: KC structured Cassel's contract to where they have an out after the 2010 season. If his play does not improve, I think he is done in KC after the season.

I would hate to be a Chargers fan. Rivers is such a girl dog.
 He's easily the most popular athlete in San Diego. Probably go down as the greatest football player in Charger history when it's over. Guy is fantastic.
Greater than Fouts? Winslow? Joiner? Marion Butts? Surely you jest.
He's got the highest QB rating of any QB in history through 65 or so games. Highest ppg by an offense in NFL history. I think he's got the 3rd best winning percentage in NFL history thus far. He's already broken Fouts TD records and is on pace to dwarf Fouts career numbers. Guy is probably the most underrated player in the NFL. Yet he's labeled a whiner b/c he's yelling at his teammates for dumb penalties. I don't get it.
There will never be a QB better than Dan Fouts. Ever. Again. Don't try to tell me otherwise.
:D

:toilet: Not to mention that Fouts played when the AFC West was a monster Division while Rivers has been playing when the Division is really weak, When Fouts played, the Raiders and Broncos were extremely good on Defense. And KC and the Seahawks were very good as well over his career.

What happened to Floyd last night? He had 12 targets but only 3 catches? How did that happen?
He had nine bona fide targets. (Three weren't intended for him; he was just the closest guy to where the ball landed.)So that's six incompletions on passes intended for him. On the first, he made a leaping grab in the air, but lost it when the DB hit him on the way back down. On two plays, the DB made a play on the ball, batting it down. One was thrown over his head out the back of the end zone. He slipped on the last one, also at the back of the end zone. That's five. I don't remember the other. (I had them all written down to help me write the upgrade/downgrade feature, but I closed Notepad without saving it when I was done with it.)
