Game Thread W1 - Carolina V San Diego (1 Viewer)

Turner > LT. This much is clear.
There is a big difference in the Panthers D and the Lions D.
I know, but it shouldn't matter for a mega-stud like LT. 8 rushes for 33 yards after starting out with a 14 yard run is pretty sad. Maybe he'll pick it up. It doesn't look hopeful, though.
LT is always a bit slow in his first preseason game.
Fair enough. Let's see how he does in the second half. Maybe they'll actually utilize him.

lol at this split in carries. I own Williams and Stewart, looks like there's gotta be an injury for any type of studly production...
The way that team has opened holes in the first half, they could both be studs this year. 112 yards between them and that doesn't flatter them. The Carolina running game has been tremendous in the first half, and they have 282 yards of total offense in one half on the road against one of the best teams in the league.
THe running game has looked good but for some reason when they get in the red zone they want to start throwing. When they went for it on 4th and goal, how do you not give it to Williams or Stewart?

Also of note, Pro-Bowlers Marcus McNeil and Nick Hardwick are both out of this game, and Pro-Bowl LG Chris Dielman is still nursing an injury. That's why the Chargers keep running to the right instead of the left, which is where Tomlinson prefers to run.

Anyone know of a site that will show qty of carries of a certain yardage over the last few years? In other words, how many 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, etc yard carries a player has had? I have been an LT owner in our keeper league for five years (a very grateful LT owner), but I swear he has more carries of two yards or less than any RB I have ever seen.

For those of you watching the game, any thoughts on TE Dante Rosario (currently 5 catches for 71 yds)? One week wonder or great waiver wire pickup or somewhere in between?

I'm impressed with I have seen. Very athletic - has drawn comparisons to Gates. But then again, all the Panthers have looked good on offense today.

They plan on using him and King a lot in two TE sets this year.

You can't challenge the play clock, can you? Snap was a good couple of seconds after zero on that fumble/strip play, but not called.

I think he's the panther TE to have.

 Yes, easily.

Sorry LT owners. Looks like the loss of the o-linemen really hurt him this week. Besides the Chambers TD, Rivers has looked mediocre at best.

He's looked great on this drive.
Please don't feed the trolls. EdwardCat watches less football than anyone on this board. He never has anything intelligent to say and is just trying to goad some kind of reaction out of you.The post you referred to is a perfect example. Rivers has been under constant pressure the entire game and has had to bail out of plays time and time again, and yet he has completed 16 of 25 for 2 TDs. In no way, has he been mediocre. In fact, the best coaching move of the entire game has been to unleash Rivers on that last drive.

Why has Peppers been so quiet? Have they been doubling him all game?

I expected to see more out of him this game given the OL injuries to the Chargers.

You really need a life, Despyzer. I've never seen someone so eager to insult people.

Good point. I have no idea. A couple times he has dropped back into the passing lanes, and he has been close to a few sacks/pressures a few times. He just hasn't finished the job.BTW, that ball looked down to me.

 Is this the year EdwardCat is finally right about LT? And if it is, does this make him any less wrong in previous years?
