How about some love for the Steeler D also? Outstanding performance after the first drive. Honestly, the play of Roethlisberger and Randel-El surprised me more today than that of FWP. But there's no doubt, Willie Parker is now the starting RB of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Staley and Bettis are 2 and 2a. They're not reliable, and Willie really looks to be for real. He ran good between the tackles, no fear. He showed the ability to change speeds, cut, and find that extra gear. And he is just faster than ever single player on the field. He's not small...220 pounds...and I don't see any way the Steelers start anybody over this kid as long as he's healthy and playing like this.Tons of good to take out of this game, that's for sure. :towelwave:

Huh? I fully expect a 50/50 split of Staley and Parker once Duce is healthy.
I guess you could be right. I shoudn't have made it sound so definite. But there's a very good chance that Staley's time in Pittsburgh as starting RB is over. Willie looks to be the real deal. If he is, then he should start over Staley. Staley has been injured over 1/3 of his career or something stupid like that, and if Willie is getting the job done, I don't see why they would mess with that.

Then again, maybe they will, but I think it would be a mistake. Pick a starter, and run his ### off.

I would like to see Willy for 3 quarters plus with a Stayley series somewhere along the way. The bring Staley in for some fourth quater pounding when you have the lead. Bettis resumes his short yardage and goaline duties.

Parker will start next week -Cowher has already declared it. :towelwave: on today's performance...EXACTLY what we needed after a lackluster preseason.
