Game Thread W11 - Pittsburgh V Cleveland (1 Viewer)

WTF Davenport! He is running down the sideline but runs out of bounds to avoid contact with THE KICKER. called back for holding, but still.....
what's the point in trying at this point?
What are you doing here?
subtly badmouthing the stillers as the move into last place in the AFC north.there goes the subtle part.
This game is far from over and the Bengals are sub .500 - you must be really pleased.
i could be worse.

The Browns are about to execute one of the worst chokes of the season. Big Ben is driving the Steelers to FG range down 20-17. Tons of passes to Santonio Holmes.

This game is going to overtime for sure, unless the Steelers get a TD and win it.

I think the Steelers learned that the way to win is to keep their lousy defense off the field.

TD Steelers. This game is OVER! ####!

The Browns choke away another big game this year. At some point, your team begins to believe that they can't win games. This may be that point for this new look Browns team.

Why in the world did the Browns burn their final TO when the Steelers had the ball. Wow that was horrible.

Ah they had 2. My bad. Whew.

Now that's a hail mary. Always good to see a few bounces. :D Tho, I'm not sure if Edwards stepped out as he was tipping it.

ETA: yup, looked like he stepped out.

Steve Tasker seems like he might be a pretty talented commentator. The end of the game is the first time I've heard him broadcast.

Well, this is a step in the direction of Crennel getting fired at the end of the season. Attendance at home games has become an issue and this was a serious blow to that, imo.

Might have just lost his job.

Toss your towels all ya want. That team is down right horrible. Not sure how you can be happy with your team or your quarterback.

Go back to sewers

No such thing as a big win over the Browns, but a win's a win.Ben didn't look sharp early on, but 2 of his 3 INTs weren't his fault at all. He kept it together and drove them down the field when they needed him, and that was very, very encouraging.Loved seeing Santonio step up.. that kid's got a chance to be a good one.

Steelers are still very much in the playoff hunt. Its not over yet. Im still pissed off the Raiders couldnt do us that favor and beat KC. We would have just been 1 game out of a wild card spot. I dont see KC as a team that can win consistently. The steelers playoff chances are in there own hands. If we get to 9-7 ,i think were in.

Don't look at the record. Look at how many games we are out of a playoff spot. We win the tiebreaker with KC. Were just 2 games behind them. Were 1 game behind Jacksonville ,Cincinnati ,Jets. We are very much in the playoff hunt. I agree it is a longshot ,but its looking much better then it did 2 weeks ago.

If you take 2 of those 3 INTs that were perfect throws bobbled by the recivers and make them the completions they should have been, Roethlisberger's stat line doesn't look so bad.

Guy just won the game for them, again. Can we please can the Charlie Batch talk, for Christ's sake?

Man you need to get the blinders off. They beating the freaking Browns. They are still having the same problems that they've had all year long....costly turnovers and horrendous special teams play. The only difference is today they managed a win. Until I see this trend change (and it hasn't changed in 10 games!!!), I'll be happy if this team makes it to .500. It is so freaking frustrating watching how bad this team is playing (even with the 2 game win streak).

Oh ya and for you Ben Bashers out there, he is not even a minor part of the problem for this team. He has had 2 or 3 bad games all year but has played very well other than that. The numbers won't show that but anyone who has watched the games know it. They're just not a very good team right now.

Steelers I blame BEFORE I even get to Ben:1. The O-line2. The underperforming LBs.3. The not so special teams4. Weisenhunts game calling5. Cowher's mediocre coaching this year6. The horrible defensive backs7. Cedric Wilson - why does this guy still get to take the field?8. Now, here I blame Ben for "pushing it too much".Just my 2 cents, but those who automatically blame Ben just aren't paying attention.

A win. An ugly win, but still a win. Cha-ching! :towelwave: :towelwave: :towelwave: :towelwave: :towelwave: :towelwave: next victim....
Agreed. An ugly win but at this point we'll take it.Fellow Steelers fans: hold off on the playoff talk this week -- PLEASE!Ben bashers: The first pick was on him, the other two were off receivers hands/chest and not his fault. Ben showed a lot on those final three drives and without a running game at all.Browns fans: your team played a damn good game for three quarters, especially considering how banged up they are on "D". I think they're going to be pretty tough in the next meeting, and definitely going in the right direction for next season.

I agree on the INT's. Ben played a pretty good game for the coverage he was facing. Their were a couple of passes that weren't even close to the reciever, but those weren't the INT's and he was under pressure.

Winning tends to affect a team's attitude and their execution. They've now won a couple of games and have a HUGE game next week @ Baltimore. If they can manage to win that game I can see them going on a roll and definitely getting back into playoff contention.

The problem is that they've left themselves no room for error. One off week probably kills their chances, as I think they'll need to finish 10-6 to get in.
