Game Thread W13 - Buffalo V Miami (1 Viewer)

Bills were up 23-3 with 1st and goal at the 3 yard line. AT WORST, YOU KICK A FG THERE AND ARE UP 23 points.

Instead, Mularkey calls a passing play and Losman turns it over.

Why didn't Mularkey run the ball? WHY?
Because he's a MORON disguised as a coach? :hey:
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS HELL YEAH!!! JUST WHAT I WANTED!!!! :excited: :excited: :excited:

in a prevent defense on 3rd down, how do you not double team Chris Chambers and somehow give up that huge bomb?horrible collapse by the Bills. time to clean house after this season.screw these guys

Sweet win for the Dolphins. It's always nice to have a game like that to get you pumped up during a season that you know isn't going anywhere.

While I love the game I know enough to know I don't know it well enough to be a coach...But hayzoos kreesto...Un f'ing believable...

Just had to say I started both Chambers and Evans!!!So, I see Chambers had 238... was he that dominant or did the Bills just lay an egg?

238 sounds wrong. I thought it was supposed to be around 190 or so.

So...Did Saban play to win?

I would agree. This team's had some injuries but you can't lose a game like that. I am from Detroit, not a Lions fan, but I still feel that pain. That really sucks and there is no excuse for losing that game.

15 receptions, 238 yards, 1 TD
I've never been a big Chambers fan, but  imagine what he'd do with Vince Young, Omar Jacobs or (won't happen) Leinart as his QB. (Or maybe Rivers?)

Imagine if they just let Sage keep throwing it to him?

Because *anybody* could call a running play on 1st and goal from the 3, so if you want to show the world how clever and tricky you are, you have to do something else instead. Are we sure that Mike Martz wasn't on our sideline somewhere? We didn't hire him while I wasn't looking, did we?

A team like the Bills -- and a subpar technical college junior varsity coach like Mularkey -- has NO right to be cocky even up 21pts. But he did get cocky, and it cost them. That inexplicable bonehead pass call on first and goal from the three ALONE should get him his pink slip tomorrow. Picked off.

Momentum change.

Fins win.

Also, let's give some kudos to the defense. You'd think that after Chambers had caught 7 or 8 passes and was consistently getting wide open in our secondary, we might think about double-teaming him or something. But, no, that would be too easy. Much better to leave him singled up with Jabari Greer on the key play of the game. There's no way we could have possibly guessed that pass might go to Chambers.

By the way, I ####### hate this team. Every week they find new ways to lose. They choke against New England, they choke against Carolina, and now they make somebody named Sage Rosenfels look like Dan Marino. This team sucks and has no character. They deserve to keep getting pounded until we bring in some professionals.

also, Eric Moulds has oVVned the Dolphins and Sam Madison throughout his career.great job picking today to sit him down and get Roscoe Parrish more involved in the offense.:rolleyes:Buffalo News today seemed to suggest that Donahoe could be let go after this year, but that Mularkey is probably safe. I like the coaching staff he put together but his play calling in short yardage has to be some of the worst possible. He talks a great game about controlling the clock and running the ball, but then he consistently comes out and tries to run trick play after trick play when a simple run up the gut will get the job done.At this point, I wouldn't mind firing everybody. Nate Clements is a great CB, but he needs to show up more than once every couple weeks if he wants to become the highest paid CB in the league this offseason. He dropped an easy TD today and was torched repeatedly by Chris Chambers.Losman, McGahee, Evans, Schobel, Fletcher, Spikes, McGee are a solid foundation of talent to build around. But, they really need to start getting rid of some of the dead weight on this team.I think we can expect to see some major changes in Buffalo this offseason. Mike Williams, Eric Moulds, Sam Adams will probably be gone...and guys like Lawyer Milloy, Troy Vincent, Nate Clements may also not make it back.

Good analysis. Personally I would like to see us keep Clements, but otherwise this is spot on. I've generally defended Donahoe because a lot of the shots taken at him were off-base. (I'm thinking here specifically of the the Drew Bledsoe trade and the McGahee pick, both of which were solid). But the bottom line is that this guy has assembled a bunch of players who have themselves penciled into the super bowl every year in the preseason. Strutting and preening is okay when you can back it up, like Baltimore a few years back. This team wilts under pressure and seems to lack any kind of leadership.

If Mularky comes back next year, fine. If not, that's fine too. Here's an idea. Maybe hire somebody who's had some successful head coaching experience before instead of going with a failure (Wade Phillips), or a first-timer (Williams, Mularky).

I still can't believe Donahoe thought Gregg Williams was a better hire than Marvin Lewis and John Fox.Charlie Weis also would have been a great choice instead of Mularkey...not sure how realistic that was though.I think Clements is one of the elite CBs in the league and I would be fine if they slapped the franchise tag on him. But, when you have a guy like that on your team and the other team's best WR is killing you...just put Clements on him and give him some safety help. This team seems unable to make any adjustments on the fly and always falls apart late in games.

:lmao: Ivan, you're normally so even-keeled and level-headed in the FFA political threads. Now I know what REALLY gets your blood boiling.

Dolphins pull off an upset against San Diego next week... Go on a nice run...The East has not yet been won.

Moulds was benched for this game? Why? I thought he was doing pretty well, overall. I didn't see him on injury reports.

I'm hardly a Bills fan, so pardon me if I sound ignorant, but why would Mike Williams be gone? From what I've seen, he's the anchor of the line.

 Mike Williams lost his starting RT job to Jason Peters, an undrafted college tight end who is playing OT for pretty much the first time ever. It doesn't look good for an undrafted player to outplay a guy who was the #4 overall pick in the draft.

The coaches tried moving Mike Williams to LG, where Bennie Anderson has been a huge free agent bust, but that didn't work out either. He's never played on the left side of the line and he's had a very hard time staying healthy this year.

When he was drafted a few years ago, he signed the biggest contract in Bills history, so he makes way too much for a guard or backup tackle. He only will have 2 years left on what could have been a $44 million deal and I'm pretty sure he has a big roster bonus coming up this offseason. The Bills will almost certainly release him if they can't renegotiate his deal and get him to take a major pay cut. He makes too much money for a guard and the team has apparently decided that he can't play tackle.

This quote from Larry Felser last week might also shed some light on the situation:

The line's problem is its lack of talent. The season began with the left side of the line manned by two free agents, tackle Mike Gandy of the Bears and guard Bennie Anderson of the Ravens, teams not noted for the prowess of their passing attacks. If Mike Williams wasn't such a flop he would have replaced Anderson after he lost his job at right tackle. Right guard Chris Villarial, another ex-Bear, is a journeyman.

None of these players would rank among the top 15 in the league at their positions. The top lineman is center Trey Teague, but his best position is left tackle, where he played for Denver before becoming a Bill.

The Williams story is an all-time nightmare for the Bills. Just what was Donahoe thinking when he selected Williams as the fourth pick in the draft four years ago, making him the highest-paid Buffalo player of all time?

In salary scales around the NFL, left tackle is the premium offensive line position, the man who normally protects the quarterback's blind side and is paid the most in recognition of his value. Williams was a right tackle in college at the University of Texas.

The explanation for that was that Chris Simms, the Longhorns quarterback, was a lefty and hence the right tackle protected his blind side. But when he got to Buffalo, it turned out that Williams flat out couldn't play the left side, more than a minor handicap since every quarterback Buffalo has had on the roster in Williams' time with the team - Drew Bledsoe, Alex Van Pelt, Travis Brown, Losman, Shane Matthews and Kelly Holcomb - is a right-hander.

When he flunked at right tackle, the Bills discovered he couldn't play left guard either, which he proved when he was auditioned as Anderson's replacement. Having Williams on the roster is like buying a $250,000 recreational vehicle with gas prices at an all-time high
Reports seem to indicate that Williams is a nice guy, but a soft player who may not have the motivation and dedication necessary to take full advantage of his physical skills and become a top pro in the NFL. He certainly didn't help matters when he arrived to training camp out of shape this year. Since then, he has been in and out of the lineup due to minor injuries, which has forced a lot of lineup juggling and has hurt the cohesiveness of the entire line.It would be very difficult to describe him as anything but a collossal bust at this point. When the Bills selected him, it was their highest draft choice since they took Bruce Smith #1 overall, and may be one of the key blunders that winds up costing Tom Donahoe his job after the season.

Aaron,You still scoffing at my 6-10 preseason prediction? I think 5-11 is more likely now. Or my Pats -4 over Buffalo proposition? Pats by 3 right now with 4 to play. :lmao: :lmao: I'll give you that same bet now. What do you think? Pats will win 10 games, will the Bills get to 6 wins?
