Game Thread W13 - Tampa Bay V New Orleans (1 Viewer)

Brees is a smart guy. When that play came in from the sideline, why didn't he just say "#### that, we're not running that stupid play" and then just call an off-tackle run? Why? Just. Bloody. Stupid.

Regardless of whether the division is winnable, if they win today they're in the hunt for the second NFC wild card. Detroit bloody lost again today. That second spot is wide open.

I swear I saw a look on Brees' face that said "WTF?". You have to wonder how much time the QB even has to digest a play, with everything going thru his head.

Payton should be coming back to an empty office.
Meanwhile, Gruden should be coming back to a contract extension.
I wouldn't go that far. Too many FG's the last few games where we should have been more comfortably ahead. Pretty dominating overall performance stat wise to be losing in the last few minutes and need an early Christmas gift to steal it away...

You are complaining about kicking FG's in two wins where our backup and 3rd string QB were playing.466 yards with a guy who hasn't played in 3 years. And who would we possibly want instead? Les Miles? C'mon...there is no coach close to Gruden on the market...other than maybe Cowher. He'll be here another 3 years at least.

Just when I thought Petrino was the biggest idiot in the NFL, Peyton throws his hat in the ring. Wow.Enjoy it Bucs fans, you're team will get one more week than everybody else before they're on the golf course.
:D Don't go away bitter...

What do you think about McCown as our future?
Looked really comfortable back there. Rocks backs and rips it in there -- big arm. And that deep ball to Joey was gorgeous. That all said, the Saints aren't exactly the 00 Ravens on defense, so I'll need to see more.Cheers to 8-4 :D

I thought it was some surreal version of the Tony Romo commercial where the guy yawns in the middle of the play call. That has to be the dumbest call I've ever seen. It's not the game that's on the line--it's the entire ####### season. If we run the ball three times the worst case is that we punt to them with >2 mins left and pin them at the ~15 yard line. If we get two first downs, the game is over.

That was a severe out-coaching.
If by out-coach you mean "Sean Payton out-coaching himself with a ridiculous call when the game was all but locked up", then yes. Gruden's coaching didn't win that game for the Bucs.

Yea right. Going for it on 4th and 1 at the end to buy out his tired team, preparing a 3rd-string QB to win on the road and throw for over 300 while doing it...yea Gruds had nothing to do with that win.Do some of you people actually watch footbal?

I watch football, can you spell it? All of those things you cited don't total up to a Bucs win sans Payton's bone head decision.

i have to credit Gruden for the game. he did a great job for the reasons you mention. maybe the most impressive is getting his 3rd stringer ready to play like that. sure, the saints defense is weak but he could have still stunk it up.
