Game Thread W14 - Arizona V Seattle (1 Viewer)

Holmgren is mad about the spot on the Pollard catch and rightfully so. 4th down, they are going.

I rarely say this but...I like the playcalling today. They are keeping the Cards completely off balance. Alexander is hitting the holes, Hasselbeck is in control, and the team is making plays. Awesome TD catch by Engram.

They need to get SA going.
 If they start trying to force the ball to SA and get away from the pass first mentality they'll let the Cards crawl back in. They need to keep their foot on the throat and use SA sparingly.
I could be wrong but I think they need to get SA going for the playoffs not for this week. They are going to have a hard time keeping up with Dallas, they need a RB who can pick up a first down or two from time to time.

Seahawks have looked great the past few weeks. This team is a lot better than they were in week one or five. Hasselbeck is having a great season for what many have called an "average" quarterback.

Which is precisely why they shouldn't get too dependent on SA. They need to go into the playoffs in a RBBC approach. SA is not going to be THE guy for the Seahawks so they need to work the system the way they're going to use it in the playoffs. And that means spreading the ball to all 3 RBs.

Seattle's defense is better than Dallas'. If they mix it up the way they are right now, they are gonna be tough to beat.

Good, I hope they stick with their approach. Alexander killed the Packers last year. He cannot be that far removed from that guy.

Yes he can. Look how many times they gave it to him buried deep in their own territory. Zero. When it counts, they don't want it in his hands. Even on the 4th down carry, he bounced it outside because the DE or LB thought it was going to Weaver on the fake and took a step or two inside. Nobody expected SA to actually get it because he usually doesn't do anything with it when he does. This team isn't the same as the previous years with the good running OL, they'll win with Hass' arm, not SA's legs anymore.

Real nice half by the Seahawks. It would be nice to keep the playcalling the same in the 3rd qtr and put this one to bed.

So Holmgren yelss at his team up by 24 not to let up and keep up the pressure and he pulls a #######g draw play out of his magic hat instead of a shot at the end zone? Hass is on fire, go for it. At least take a shot at the TD instead of settling on a FG before the play even starts. Sometimes I just HATE his play calling.

Is it a RBBC there, Morris is getting a lot of looks but I thought he was the 2 minute drill guy anyway.
Not since SA was out. Morris has played a big role and iwll continute to do so as he is MUCh better at catching and pass blocking than SA. Holmgren's said he'll use more MoMo than in the past with his new pass oriented offensive philosophy. SA's just not getting the ball and has looked as bad on half his runs as he looked good on the others.

I think this second half is going to be interesting. You know Holmgren is gonna start grinding it out and I have to think they use Alexander for that. We'll see but I definitely like it when Morris is in there.

That's the problem. He likes to start grinding it out too early. They need to keep the pressure on and not let SA's 3 and outs give AZ room to breathe. I think the announcers touched on it that Holmgren should stay aggressive until the fourth quarter.

How does Fitz look? Does it look like playing today will hurt him for the next few weeks or should he be fine?

He looks like he's playing hurt but he's made a few nice plays and had one great catch over the middle. Leonard Pope is down and it looks like an ankle.

I was just about to post how we needed a turnover, and there we go.

He Holmgren, GO FOR THE THROAT. Put the game in Hass' hands and put his chicken crap team away.

Arizona recover an onside kick?

A TD here would be very interesting

Edit: as Warner throws an interception
